The first trailer for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie is alive!

Mar. 1, 2012by: Paul Shirey

It's alive! Tim Burton's FRANKENWEENIE debuts its first trailer and it looks like what you'd expect, which is awesome. If you're a fan of stop-motion animation and/or Tim Burton then this is tailor made for your sensibilities. Literally.

Check it out:

Although I wasn't floored by CORPSE BRIDE, you can't help but appreciate every frame of detail that goes into films like FRANKENWEENIE and NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.  It's really an amazing process to watch in motion and I actually prefer it over CGI animated films (although I still enjoy them as well).

Here's the synopsis for the film:

After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life -- with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

FRANKENWEENIE is resurrected on October 5, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: If you're a fan of stop motion and haven't seen Fantastic Mr. Fox then you're sorely missing out on something great. Give it a shot.

Love that they've stuck with the look of the original short film.

Wow.

Three words. Return to form. For the time being anyway. Ah, and "the end..or is it?" was a nice touch.

Color me excited!

...Though I do wish they would stop saying 'From Tim Burton -- The Director of Alice in Wonderland'. Sure it made a killing at the box office, but that was hands down the worst movie Tim Burton has ever made. Planet of the Apes remake included.

extra tidbit- Luckily I was one of the few that seen Mr. Fox at the movie theatres. I had such a great time with it that I went back the next day and saw it again haha It's so refreshing and original and it's hilarious to boot!

Anyways, as for Frankenweenie, it looks like a great time(as a lover of both old school horror films and B movies) and hopefully Burton knocks it out of the park... He needs a good flick, and im sure he can still deliver with the best

I saw it in theaters as well and loved it. It looks amazing on blu ray. I see something new every time I watch it. Great stuff.

Trailer or basically the first third of the movie?

That aside this looks terrific, and I'm not even a big Burtonite, save for Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Beetle Juice and The Planet of the Apes (kidding).
