The first two official stills from the Hitman reboot Agent 47

07.24.2014

The first official stills from AGENT 47 have been released courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox. The film adaptation of the Square Enix video game series is a reboot of the Timothy Olyphant starring 2007 film HITMAN. AGENT 47 is being helmed by first-time director Aleksander Bach from a script by Kyle Ward (MACHETE KILLS), Skip Woods (SABOTAGE, A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD), and Michael Finch (PREDATORS).

I caught HITMAN on TV and thought it was a loud insufferable mess with some of the worst dialogue I’ve heard from a feature film. That being said, you can’t fault them for trying to make this work considering the crazy amount of money the RESIDENT EVIL franchise is still making and those are also laughable, albeit entertaining.

The reboot features Rupert Friend (Homeland) as Agent 47 and he’s certainly got the look down judging from these first images. The reboot also stars Hannah Ware (OLDBOY) as Katia, Zachary Quinto (STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS) and Thomas Kretschmann (AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON).

AGENT 47 is slated for a February 27, 2015 release.

Did you watch HITMAN? Are you game for a reboot already?

This dude is pretty awesome on Homeland. I love Timothy Olyphant, however I can dig this casting too.

Pledge of quality...

So the guys responsible for Machete Kills, Predators, Sabotage and Die Hard 5 are making a movie together... Who the hell hired them?! All these films were critical flops and 3 bombed at the box office, did they even read their CV?! I mean, how can anyone think this is a good idea. I couldn't care less about this movie in the first place, but this is almost too stupid to be true.

I enjoyed the first Hitman because of Olyphant. He did the best he could with a mediocre script. Not sure of this one.

Eh

Another flick to watch on-demand or netflix stream. Timothy Olyphant is a badass and his Hitman was great. But hey it's all about the money and not the art.

Mark Strong

I think Hitman (the movie) doesnt necessarily need to follow the game story line because is not strongest aspect of it, but something that couldve been done right was the casting; someone that looks and sound the part. Mark Strong wouldve had been an excellent choice IMO.

It's the first major Hollywood film to shoot in Singapore where I'm from so it has that going for it I guess, but I certainly won't get my hopes up. To me, Timothy Olyphant in Hitman was like Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex - great for the role but surrounded by a terrible movie.

The first few minutes of The Mechanic was structured beat by beat like the standard assassination mission commonly found in Hitman: Codename 47

The name's Friend. Rupert Friend. I'm an assassin and I look funny with a shaved head. Hey, quit it, stop laughing.

Lame

Tim did a fine job and the nudity on the unrated version made it more ballsy than I was expecting. The first one was fine considering the source material

Like The_Soloist said; Statham

Those pics make it look like a bad TV movie. I'll hold off for a "real" opinion for later.
I loved the 2007 one because I want to marry Olga Kurylenko and she's naked in it. Olyphant was fine, but if there is ANYONE that looks and sounds like the video game character, it's Jason Statham.

I thought Olyphant made for a good Hitman, but was in a terrible scripted film. But if they had to do a reboot with someone new, then I don't understand how you don't give this part to Jason Statham. He would have been perfect for the role and franchise.

It would look to much like Transporter, the only difference is he would be wearing a Red tie instead of a Black One.
