The Force Unleashed 2 trailer is the Star Wars movie we need

Many of you know that E3 is this week, and with it comes many new cinematic trailers for upcoming games, the most awesome of which we’ll probably share with you here.

The one that’s caught my eye early on is the new four minute long spot for The Force Unleashed 2 called “Betrayal.” After Vader gives Starkiller the shaft in the first game, he’s back with a vengeance, butchering Stormtroopers and mechs alike with his lightsaber(s) and force powers.

This is what happens when you take Star Wars away from George Lucas and make it awesome once again. The original Force Unleashed wasn’t a perfect game, but it had a great story, and I would kill to see it as a film, as it has better writing than acting than any installment of the new trilogy.

I was about to comment that Starkiller looks an awful lot like Battlestar Galactica’s Sam Witwer, but thankfully I did some Googling before I embarrassed myself as he IS Starkiller in the game, voice, face and all. He’s got to be praying a movie adaptation of this actually happens.

But I can’t see that occurring at all given Lucas’ propensity for direct control, but after watching something like this, man, THIS is what Star Wars should be in the 21st century.
