The full 3 minute trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. looks as good as any of the Marvel movies
After rolling out some short teasers, ABC formally premiered the full 3 minute trailer for AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. and it looks pretty damn good. On display are Joss Whedon's trademark banter as well as the return of Agent Coulson. Regardless of whether the show looked like garbage or not it was going to premiere, but this actually looks like a quality show. It definitely capitalizes on THE AVENGERS and should definitely whet some appetites for Phase Two movies and beyond.
Watching the trailer, I definitely had deja vu thinking that this looks like a cross between FRINGE and the Marvel universe, which is a good thing. The cast, including Ming Na (still looking good at age 49) and several newcomers may quickly become one of my new favorite shows. Check out the kick ass full trailer below.
Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvelís feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulsonís team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. will have so much room to play with that we may not notice none of the major heroes aren't on screen, but that doesn't rule it out. The showrunners can easily draft dozens of minor characters from Marvel or come up with new ones. Depending on popularity, who knows how far the crossovers between big and small screen could go. The possibilities with this one are through the roof.
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. will air Tuesdays at 8pm EST this Fall on ABC.
