The Giamatti Version

Paul Giamatti will headline BARNEY’S VERSION, an adaptation of Mordecai Richler’s novel directed by Richard J. Lewis (“CSI”). The story is a fictional memoir of a dude whose life is punctuated by failed relationships and hatred, and possibly, murder. You last saw Giamatti in DUPLICITY, if you saw that movie. If not, then probably when he haunts your dreams from that time you caught LADY IN THE WATER and couldn’t take it back.

Well, if there’s anyone who can do “man, I messed my life up” it is Giamatti. This dude was born to play depressed, disappointed and retrospective. Much like I was born to play charming, handsome, and exotic lover. Once I get my resume together, Antonio Banderas is done in Hollywood. Done, I say!
