Emma Stone fights for the right to potty in this trailer for The Help

4 years agoby:

Well, this looks more entertaining than most Lifetime movies.

THE HELP stars Emma Stone and is adapted from the novel of New York Times best selling MILF author Kathryn Stockett. Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard) wants to have separate toilets for the African-American maids. Skeeter Phelan (Emma Stone) is a writer who is disgusted by this idea and decides to do something about it. Ah shit, a fight between Bryce Dallas and Emma. The trailer makes the film look like it could be good, even though Stone's wig is god awful.

Check out the trailer below.

Synopsis:

"Set in Mississippi during the late 1960s, 'The Help' follows Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan (Emma Stone) as she returns from college and lands a job writing a column on cleaning in her local paper. Not knowing anything about cleaning, Miss Skeeter must rely on her friend and maid, Aibileen (Viola Davis). After Aibileen's friend Minny (Octavia Spencer) agrees to help, this collaboration evolves into a full-blown book project with Skeeter attempting to interview the help of her friends and neighbors to tell their side of the story."

Extra Tidbit: Stockett received 45 rejection letters before a literary agent picked her up.

When I saw that all I could think of is this parody. "You got fight!..For your right!...To Potty!"

The only thing that's killing it for me is that last song. Couldn't they find SOMETHING appropriate from the time period? Otherwise, an interesting perspective on a bit of recent history, and Bryce Dallas Howard looks to really be sining her teeth into that role.

Looks Good

It is interesting how the line between Lifetime quality movies and theater quality movies is being blurred. It's rather scary and I think it's because theatrical films are going down in quality. However, The Help looks good. If Bryce Dallas Howard throws herself into her racist character and if they give the African-American actresses some meaty writing to act with, it could be fantastic. otherwise, ehh...Also, yeah, Emma Stone's wig blows chunks.

Movie looks rather cliche and shit...

But I'll watch anything with Emma Stone. I love her so much, I think she is downright the most prettiest actress or at least one of them. And is it just me or did her hair change like 3 colors went from blond, to brown, to her reddish color. LOL. IDK good netflix movie. I did love her in PAPERMAN if u haven't seen it and always thought she was a terrible actress, you need to watch that movie. it's golden.
