Just under ten years ago NBC's Heroes made a big splash at San Diego Comic-Con and the Heroes team returned this past weekend to once more get the crowd excited for the series 13-episode revival titled Heroes Reborn. The once beloved series stands as one of the many shows which are set to return to our screens with a revival of some sort, but it still feels a little too early to tell whether or not Heroes Reborn actually deserves that shot at redemption.

A new extended trailer for Heroes Reborn was dropped at SDCC 2015 which gives us more action, more powers, and some surprising guests; check it out below.

I want to be excited about Heroes Reborn, I really do, I can remember the excitement which surrounded the show during its wonderful first season and desperately want to feel that way once again. There's definitely some points of interest contained within this new trailer as well as some potential for a return to greatness, but I'm just not feeling it yet. Come on Heroes Reborn, you can do it!

Here’s NBC’s official description of Heroes Reborn:

A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss. Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman, “Heroes”), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, “A to Z”) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.

While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay, “Once Upon a Time”) just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green, “Criminal Minds”), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him. Coming from a very sheltered upbringing, a bold and ethereal teenager, Malina (Danika Yarosh, “Shameless”), has been told she is destined for greatness. In Tokyo, a quiet and unique young woman, Miko (Kiki Sukezane, “Death Yankee 3”), is trying to track down her missing father while hiding an extraordinary secret that will make her a force to be reckoned with. Elsewhere, a different type of hero is emerging through former soldier Carlos (Ryan Guzman, “The Boy Next Door”).

Heroes Reborn will kick off its thirteen-episodes on September 24, 2015 at 8/7c on NBC. Will you be watching?

If Hiro's in it, I'm on board!

It looked interesting (if not redundant), but any chance to see Hiro again is worth giving up a few hours. He really is one of my favorite TV characters ever.....

Season 1 was really overrated. Season 2 was not that bad, the main problem being that they once again had a story line in which they had to change the future. The producers were always complaining that the characters from the first season were too popular and that fans were resistant to them bringing in new characters. To an extent this was true. However, after a while Heroes started to become the Sylar Show and nobody asked for that. Season 3 was just plain bad and by the time Season 4

Looking forward to this

Unlike most people, I enjoyed the show for almost all of its run except for season 4. I hope the mini series is good and get good enough ratings to bring back the show for a couple more seasons.
