The Interstellar interactive site is full of hidden clues

Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR was surely the highlight of Comic-Con 2014 for a lot of people; the mysteries surrounding the feature only heighten the expectations and excitement but if anyone can pull it off it’s going to be Nolan. Today we were treated to the movies official website; and while most movie sites offer nothing but boredom and dated information, this one is actually interesting and worth checking out.

Visitors to interstellarmovie.com are greeted with messages like "Look Around You" and "The Answer Lies Above Us" and given the power to rotate a 360 degree image of one of the film's key locations with their mouse. I tried it myself and what’s crazy is that the site seems to be based on a visitor’s local time and geography so it will offer very different skies depending on where and when the site is accessed. We have come a long way from Oregon Trail.

Some folks out there have noticed a pulsating series of stars that represent the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing date of July 21, 1969. If you’re looking to kill productivity today, check it out and share your own findings in the comments below.

INTERSTELLAR stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, Bill Irwin, Mackenzie Foy, Topher Grace and David Gyasi. The movie hits theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2014.
