The Last Airbender gets a pair of dueling poster

01.25.2010

Man, if were M. Night Shyamalan, I'd have just kept the AVATAR in the LAST AIRBENDER title, as I bet you'd get a 20% bump in ticket sales via dumb patrons who think they're getting to see a rushed AVATAR sequel.

Anyways, why are we here? Oh right, posters. Yahoo! has a pair of one-sheets for the film which feature the dueling Benders of Fire and Air. Sadly, no "Heart" poster yet. Oh, that's a different cartoon?

Check them out below and click to head over to Yahoo! for bigger versions.

Extra Tidbit: Seriously though, how long do you think until we see a live action CAPTAIN PLANET? I give it no more than three years.

Damn, I can't fucking wait! I loved the animated series and I suspect Shyamalan will do the show justice.

About time someone else thought of it

Like I'm so glad that someone else thought there should be a Live Action Captain Planet I have been saying this for years and my friends just look at me weird. Like its been way to long since Captain Planet has been mention and the cartoons were sick. Like They brought GI Joe Back bring back the only real Cartoon that counts. Well unless they made a live action Carebears movie that would be sick too.

I'm really interested to see how Shyamalan handles the action sequences. His films are pretty laconic and really slow paced but the teaser looked pretty cool. The posters are bland though.

Unbreakable, 6th Sense and Signs all very good but not very rewatchable (except maybe Signs). The Happening was just miscast, I didn't think it was too bad. It was no great shakes, but it had some good stuff in there. But anyone who can honestly say Lady in the Water was any good is much more forgiving

I love the show and I'm excited for the movie, but slightly skeptical because of Shyamalan! Hopefully he doesn't pull a "Happening" or "Lady in the Water" on us!

The only reason this comment is negative is because the poster is supposed to rope in people who are outside the target audience. These are so boring and plain that I'm sure there's few people that don't know what The Last Airbender is that actually wanna see it.

The Shyamalanian twist will be that the characters are really stuck inside an MMO, being controlled by an overweight 30-year-old with cheeto-covered fingers.

I liked the teaser trailer, and I like these two posters tbh. I'm crossing my fingers for Mr Shyamalan tbh, this could be the film to renew interest in his film making.

Promising!

Love that wall of fire...the air-powers in the second one looks more like smoke or mushroom seeds. Not so easy to make air powers i guess.

YES YES YES

I hope M. Night does this right. Avatar is one of my favorite tv shows ever (I know how lame that sounds! I'm a little worried about Prince Zuko's look tho (fire dude). It looks a little Dragonball Evolutiony to me . . .

the red date strip looks out of place

I'm all for a Captain Panet movie. It would be an off-blue looking character and those make money!

I'm with some of the other posts. I'll wait to reserve judgment on this one. I am excited that he is finally adapting material instead of stubbornly trying to work on his own stories. He burnt himself out quick on his plots.

Almost.

Almost makes me want to ignore the past few strikeouts and the entire Racebending deal that's going on with it. I mean, hell... Rob Ebert supports it... and he's still an alright guy in My book. While I won't always agree with what he says I'll defend to the death his right to say it, damnit! lol

not a fan...

not digging the style they went with for these posters, and whoever decided to put that text (SUMMER 2010) down their backs... bad idea.
