Sometimes you just want to go to the grocery store for Crunch Berries, sliced turkey and the new issue of Harper's Bazaar. If you live in Stephen King's world, however, you also get the unexpected bonus of a thick fog filled with otherworldly beasties that want to nosh on your person. King regular Frank Darabont (THE GREEN MILE, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION) illustrates for you what that might be like with THE MIST. See for yourself.

Extra Tidbit: Darabont has now dealt with all three states of matter: gas, liquid (THE BLOB) and solid (SHAWSHANK).

porkchopexpress, his written work is worthy of cinema for sure, it's just normally butchered beyond belief in cheap "adaptations" but when done right (even a short like 1408, more of his typical horror fare) it's worth it, and in this day and age Darabont is basically the only one who can do that (Hafstrom aside) .

I was disappointed with the effects and they shwoed far too much for a trailer but the cast and paranoia scenes look excellent, it's a great story and if done right could be a

Now if only Darabont grabbed Hearts in Atlantis before they raped that.

Most Stephen King adaptations have been TV movies, this can't get a cinema release surely. I see this as an HBO movie or something, don't know I live in Scotland so don't know if HBO is the channel that would usually show these movies. Could be ok though, s cross between Maximum Overdrive and The Fog

EH...

As much as I admie Darabont's work, this trailer feels like it's for a TV movie. The title graphics are particularly cheesy looking.

Like yorrick brown (below) the trailer didn't really blow me away at all. I'll definitely check it out, though, seeing as how Frank Darabont is one of the few people to properly adapt Stephen King's work.

And to Zenric (below yorrick brown) yes, that was most definitely "The Fountain" score. Which pisses me off, for one because "The Fountain" is one of my all time favorite moves, and two because I hate it when they steal another films score for their trailer.

LOL

Love the tidbit, love the trailer. Thanks, Frank.

Now, hows about working with things at the molecular level, Frank?

I think it looks good...but...

They showed too much of the monsters in the trailer. I know they're the selling point for the movie, but it kinda ruins the suspense/mystery when we already know how they look.
