The new trailer for This is 40 features Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd lovingly plotting each other’s death

This second trailer for Judd Apatow’s semi-sequel to KNOCKED UP puts the focus squarely on Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. THIS IS 40 looked to be the typical Apatow schtick in the previous trailer, but this one looks better. Maybe it is because I am married with a couple of kids, but I can relate to taking four dumps a day so that I can catch up on my tablet.

We also get our first glimpses at John Lithgow and Albert Brooks. Brooks, who is playing Rudd’s father, seems like he has a pretty substantial role in the film. We also get a nice shot of Megan Fox and her lovely bewbage.

Check out THIS IS 40.

Plot: Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann are reprising their characters of husband and wife from Judd Apatow’s KNOCKED UP in a new story by the writer-director-producer. Many of the character details are being kept secret but it is understood that Ryan Lee will play the son of Melissa McCarthy, a mom at the school that Rudd and Mann’s children attend.

There is a lot of hate out there for Apatow placing his wife in all of his movies. I personally don’t have a problem with Leslie Mann. Sure, her voice can be a little annoying, but she plays her roles well. She seems more like a real person that a lot of actresses out there, albeit a perky, thin, pretty, rich, blonde person.

THIS IS 40 opens in theaters on December 21st, 2012
