Strike Back below!

The beloved man-child with a red bowtie and funny laugh, Pee-Wee Herman is coming back to the big screen. “Boy, I sure hope [it gets made]. Yeah, we’re going to [dot it]. “I’m going to make a movie based on my kids show. Based on ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse.’” ,said Paul Reubens energetically in character as Pee-Wee.

If you were a little one in the 80's like myself, your Saturday morning was not complete without PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE. While I'm still bitching to my Mom that I never got my own Chairy, I am pleased to hear about another Pee-Wee movie. There are lot of fans who loved the first movie, PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE which was directed by Tim Burton and released in 1985. As for the second movie in 1988 that was directed by Randal Kleiser, BIG TOP PEE-WEE wasn't as popular. I loved it. It had Kris Kristofferson, which didn't mean a lot then when I was four but now it's pretty f*cking sweet.

While the movie will have Playhouse in the title, it actually takes place outside of the playhouse in Puppetland. What an acid trip that could possibly be. The question is, will Tim Burton come back to direct? Or will they let someone knew take the reigns? Watch the video below to hear more from Reubens on the project.

Was this part of THE MATRIX?

i dont think i can take another peewee movie. hes old news and he should change his image and god forbid they do make another one it should be a darker peewee herman film. they should make a movie based on how he is in real life and just not the dork side of it. id pay to see that one

I hated Pee-Wee in the 80's and I hate him more now. Never found him funny or entertaining.

there's no basement in the Alamo!!
The first movie was on tv a few days ago so I watched it. I had forgotten how funny it is! This sounds pretty cool to me. The guy who did the interview didn't seem like he knew too much about the show. Guy should have done some homework before he did the interview!

He seems alot creepier as Pee Wee now. I dunno if its just his voice, but he's talking like he's threatening you over the telephone about murdering your family. But anyway, hellz yeah, more Pee Wee.

I'd think it was pretty cool if Pee Wee made a comeback. I never saw the original film but remember catching the sequel in theatres. Maybe I should add them to the list of films I need to catch up on.

Still waiting
As much as I love Pee Wee and want this to happen, I remember reading an EW article with Paul Reubens back when he was promoting Blow in 2001 and he said he was working on this movie as well as an "adult" Pee Wee movie. It's been taking that long so I'll take this article with a grain of salt.

Hmmmm!
Rob Zombie served as production assistant on PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE?? Its been a slippery slope since.

However, I'm neutral about Pee-Wee, I wasn't a big fan back then, probably won't be now.

BEST. NEWS.EVER.
Another pee wee movie, now that is something worth getting excited about. If Tim Burton had any sense he'd do it, take a break from recycling the same stuff with Johnny Depp and return to the truly bizarre once more. Despite Rueben's past I want him to return to form and this film to get made.

Some how I get the feeling this will get as far off the ground as peewee doing a sex tape with a porn star. Eh this movie is going no where except maybe at the bottom of the bargain dvd rack at walmart.

And Rob Zombie should have stayed as a P.A someplace, somewhere, and never got into actually directing anything.

Burton will never do it. Although, Spike Jonze could be an interesting choice if he were available and willing.
