The Peanuts trailer delivers a heavy dose of Schulz charm

The PEANUTS teaser was unveiled earlier this year, showcasing an art style that was akin to a moving painting. Producer (and son of Charles Schulz) Craig Schulz promised the optimism and charm prevalent in classic Peanuts cartoons, and I'm happy to say it looks like the first trailer delivers just that. Here we actually get to see what Snoopy imagines when he's flying around on top of his house like a maddog.

While I'm not inherently against computer animated pictures and they way they look, most of them seem to be cut from the same aesthetic cloth.  Frankly, that can get a little old. PEANUTS looks fantastic and definitely stands out amidst the animated crowd. More importantly, it doesn't appear to be catering to today's pop-culture sensibilities and falls more in line with classic Peanuts. Looks great to me!

PEANUTS currently has a release date of November 6, 2015.

As someone who loved the Bill Melendez specials as a kid

I really love how they played this; it looks like a Sparky cartoon rendered in CGI - that's about the best compliment I can think of. I have high hopes for this one.

Looks like Peanuts. That's the biggest complement it can get. Looks like a little thought and some love went into this.

That animation looks beautiful. The aesthetic is very Peanuts, which is great b/c you'd think producers would want to give it some kind of make over.
And the humor seems very classic Peanuts, so definitely excited about this movie for next year.

This brings back so many memories of watching Charlie Brown special. I'm very glad that they decide to go with original artwork rather than complete make-over.

The tone and the style feel just right. I was really worried this would end up like the Smurfs or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Said it before,..

And I'll say it again,... I love the type of animation used for this,... Even if its CGI, it's still very faithful to the source material!
