The Predator Shane Black

In just two weeks the badass alien creatures first introduced in the 1987 sci-fi action classic PREDATOR will be back on the big screen in director Shane Black's "inventive sequel" THE PREDATOR… which means we have just enough time left to enjoy one last trailer before the film reaches theatres.

The new trailer below is a red band one that gives us a better look at the film's characters than we've seen previously, as well as lots of glimpses of bloody action sequences and the Predators (plus their dogs), with a peppering of F-bombs added for taste.

Written by Black and Fred Dekker (with whom he wrote THE MONSTER SQUAD), THE PREDATOR has the following synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Yvonne Strahovski, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen, Augusto Aguilera, Olivia Munn, and Jake Busey star. Busey is playing the son of the character his father Gary played in PREDATOR 2.

THE PREDATOR is scheduled to be released on September 14th, but lucky attendees of the Toronto International Film Festival will get to see it next Thursday, the 6th.

I won't be at TIFF, but I will be seeing THE PREDATOR next month. The closer the release date gets, the more excited I'm getting for this film.
