The Promotion poster

Remember when that move EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH came out whenever ago and it tanked, because Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson were in it, and because it probably wasn’t funny? Well there’s a new movie out looking to do the corporate go-getter genre justice, and it’s called THE PROMOTION. Below is the one-sheet for the film, starring Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly, who seems to fully be abandoning his career as a dramatic actor at this point. I won’t bother regurgitating the plot because that would be an insult to the straightforward poster. The movie has a pretty solid cast, with people like Bobby Cannavale, Jenna Fischer, Lili Taylor, and Fred Armisen in supporting roles. The film, for reasons unbeknownst to me was previously called QUEBEC, and a reviewer from the Hollywood Reporter called it “one of the unfunniest comedies of all time.” Oops!

john c. reilly is so amazingly funny, as is seann william scott. too bad they won't make a movie based on john's character Dr. Steve Brule from Tim and Eric Awesome Show.

Oh and

John C. Reily is canadian in the movie, so there's the reason it used to be called QUEBEC.

Saw this in Chicago

with Seann William Scott and writer/director Steve Conrad there for a Q&A. It wasn't anything profound or amazing, but it was pretty good for what it was. Not as hard hitting or laugh out loud worthy as latest Apatow production, but John C. Reily is hilarious and Seann proves he can be funny, too. I met Seann after and he's a real great, nice dude.

Oh, and the poster ain't too bad!
