The Road poster

Nov. 23, 2009by: Dave Davis

The adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's ultra-bleak book THE ROAD
wanders into theaters from the post-apocalyptic hellscape just in time for the holiday weekend, giving plenty of reasons to be thankful for things like food, shelter, hygiene products and sufficient ammunition to repel unwelcome visitors or that relative grasping for the last piece of turducken.

Although if you saw the final poster art for the movie (below) on a wall, you might just think the latest issue of Rolling Stone was supersized.

You can also check out a lenghty featurette on the movie after the giant Travers blurb.

Extra Tidbit: Mmmm.... turducken.

spoiler in here avert your eyes

either the writters changed the story(super lame) or Peter Travers is on the Wienstein payroll(likely either way) the Characters played by Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron are only in the book for at the most three pages altogether.

Why do the Weinsteins have to foul up every one of their acclaimed movie posters with one that completely misrepresents what the movie is actually about?

The other poster with Viggo and Kodi (I think that's his name) just walking down the road is way better. But regardless, I can't friggin' wait to see this film.

I like the concept of the critic's quote being shown (it is a pretty nice sentence) while putting the actors name in bold instead of simply putting their name over the title. However, why in the hell is Rolling Stone written so big.
