The Saw 5 teaser

07.25.2008
100%

I gotta be honest and admit that I've only seen one of the SAW movies (part 1, which I thought was awesome), and parts of SAW 2 (mostly because our good buddy John Fallon had a small part in it -- still waiting for them to bring him back though), but it seems like the horror gravy train is still moving ahead with SAW 5 opening this Halloween, despite the film's grosses starting to dwindle (SAW: $55M / SAW II: $87M / SAW III: $80M / SAW IV: $$63M). The filmmakers apparently presented the latest teaser trailer to the rabid fans at the Comic Con today, and you can check it out yourself below. Not much to see, but I guess it's setting the mood... You can also check it out in High Definition RIGHT HERE!

I've enjoyed this franchise from the beginning. Sure, they're not the best movies out there, but they sure as hell are a fun watch.

I'll definitely see this one.

People who make stupid comments like "Why didn't they end it at three?" obviously don't understand them. I will admit, after I saw 4 I had to go back and rewatch all of them and then go back and watch it again so that it would make sense, but once I did, everything was clear. There are very few movie franchises out there that don't have a single plothole in them, but Saw I truly believe is amazing when it comes to the continuity. There may be some timeline issues if one looks close enough, I

There may be some timeline issues if one looks close enough, I mean really looks, but other than that, the continuity is so unreal. That's why I love these movies, ALL entrys are intertwined together to make one coherent storyline. They're like Pulp Fiction on crack!! I love it! Can't wait for the last two.

P.S. I HOPE that they truly do end it at 6. I hope Lionsgate doesnt try to milk this any more and make more entries trying to capitalize on the success of the others. I will die inside if after 6 they announce
"Saw VII: Son of Jigsaw" or something like that.

i have enjoyed the Saw series since the first installment... and even though part 4 did leave me with a few questions (had to go back and rewatch all of them, to understand 4 fully). I still enjoy these every halloween... having said that:

i dont like this teaser! What has been genius about the other teasers released for the other Saw flicks was they had this ambiguous beginning to the trailer, you didnt know what it was, you were in mystery... and then midway through, you got that KICK ASS

i dont like this teaser! What has been genius about the other teasers released for the other Saw flicks was they had this ambiguous beginning to the trailer, you didnt know what it was, you were in mystery... and then midway through, you got that KICK ASS Charlie Clouser score kick in, and peoples memories got jogged "hey wait, isnt that the music from Saw" and then they would have "I want to play a game" in that scary Tobin Bell voice... and then a guy freaking out in one of the traps, and then "SAW #"... Halloween!

So this trailer could have worked if they had done something lik ethat, this one just is ambiguous until the dude goes nuts and then is like SAW V.. no big guess work, no big lead in or reveal! Hope that made sense!

i still cant wait to see it though!

They said from the beginning it was planned to go to 6. Once they knew one sequel was going to be made they mapped it out to 5 sequels, which would end at six. The first one had great acting from Cary Elwes, but of course, I know being extraordinarily upset at the thought of one's wife and daughter being held captive and thinking at one point that they were killed is just ridiculous, isn't it? How dare he act that way? In any case, if you don't like them, don't watch them. Period.

Saw 6 -final?

Whoever said that Saw 6 was the last one? I thought they intended to keep milking this useless "franchise" as long as they could. I thought the first one was pretty good, if you ignored the poor acting. The second one was OK, and then it went downhill from there. Alas, I'll watch this when it hits video i'm sure.

Sweet. Can't wait for it. At last, we're down to basically a year and three months before the story will be complete. Can't wait for V and then the final installment a year later. I'm sure we're down to a few minutes before people start pouring in with the idiotic comments like "duhhh...why is there another one?" "Do we really need another Saw?" "It should have ended at III," etc (even though that would have basically been ending a story in the middle with everything up in the air).
