The screenplay for the Entourage movie is complete, picks up 6 months after the series finale

Sep. 12, 2012by:

The rumors of an ENTOURAGE movie are finally looking like a reality. Deadline is reporting that series creator Doug Ellin is in the final days of writing the big screen adventures of Vince, Turtle, E, and Ari.

Ellin says he plans to have the screenplay completed by Sunday at which point he and Mark Wahlberg will present it to HBO and move forward with production. As far as the timing of the movie, Ellin says it will take place six months after last year's final episode which found Ari Gold transitioning from super agent to studio honcho.

According to Ellin, “There are interesting developments about Ari as a studio head, and that’s still the first page for me. But foremost is the friendship between the guys who are still hanging out and going to fun parties, and it continues with the same characters.”

I would assume that Adrian Grenier, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, and Jerry Ferrara would all return for the big screen outing. It remains to be seen if any of the tons of other characters would make an appearance or which high caliber Hollywood celebrities would make cameos.

I liked the first three seasons of ENTOURAGE but everything after that just felt repetitive. Many of my friends have tried to convince me to finish the series which I may now that I know a movie is on the way.

Are you excited for a big screen ENTOURAGE?

Extra Tidbit: As long as they get Emmanuelle Chriqui or Carla Gugino back for some new-ditty, I am all good.

The only reason I'd be interested is to get some actual closure with this show. The finale was weak sauce, maybe b/c they were hoping for a movie. As others have stated, the last few seasons were mostly uninspired and repetitive. I want to like this news, but I really don't think there's much left to these guys that'll interest me.

I think Dillon was hilarious on it as well as Piven.

But, yeah, it went on too long, became dull and predictable, started to take itself too seriously and I actually grew to dislike some of the characters. The whole fratboy following it gathered didn't help much, either. But I'd see the movie, sure. It'll probably suck, but I've invested countless hours into the material already, so I'll be curious to see if it's done justice on the big screen.

I have the same feelings of Entourage as I do the Office.

Terribad idea. No please

The last seasons were terrible. I watched them because I had hopes that it would pick up again but boy was I wrong! The ending was just terrible and an insult to all those who watched it for its entirety.
I agree with what Antarius writes. If its based on Ari It should be interesting, but back to Vince and the other losers? no thanks.
By the way, its really funny to see how all those guys turned up like Johnny Drama

No!

Loved the show but the last two seasons were stale and mediocre. I think this will be on that same level.

I would never pay to see this

The show had its moment but I don't think the producers handled the popularity well. They took themselves WAY too seriously and now I can't take them seriously at all.

Much like Antarius said, if it was focused on Ari Gold for most of the film then I'd be excited. He was the heart and soul of that show, people watched it for him.

Jeremy Piven was the only truly awesome actor on that show everyone else was ok. If its an HBO movie Ill check it out, but not sure what other story is to be told that hasn't already been told.
