The sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire is finally happening

”Could you make me a woman?” Robin Williams is looking to suit up once again for MRS. DOUBTFIRE 2.

You may have heard back in the early 2000s that a sequel to the 1993 film was getting a second installment but unfortunately after awhile it came to a halt. The issue had much to do with the fact that neither William nor director Chris Columbus could find a script that could justify another go at it. In 2001, Bonnie Hunt was hired to do a take on the second installment but she didn’t seem to make it work.

David Berenbaum (ELF, THE HAUNTED MANSION) was hired to write the latest draft for the sequel.

If you somehow haven’t seen MRS. DOUBTFIRE, the movie starred Williams as ”a struggling actor and recently divorced father of three who, in order to be closer to his children, takes on the persona of a Scottish nanny, Eupheginia Doubtfire.” Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Mara Wilson, Lisa Jakub, Matthew Lawrence, and Harvey Fierstein co-starred.

Guys, I cannot begin to tell you how elated I am to hear this news. This movie came out when I was 9, and happens to be one of the most quoted comedies in my repertoire.

Yes, Columbus and Williams are currently attached.
