The sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman finds itself on the fast track

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN lies in the interesting shadow land of being a success that isn't quite an original idea and isn't quite a remake either. But whatever it is audiences have responded well enough with their wallets to warrant the fast tracking of a sequel, and so that's exactly what Universal is going to do.

David Koepp (PREMIUM RUSH, SPIDER-MAN) has been commissioned to draft a script while Universal talks with Rupert Sanders about returning, as he has expressed interest in doing so.  Sanders came as part of a package with the project when it was first pitched, and so unlike Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth his contract was only for the one movie.  But word is that he's inclined to return and Universal is inclined to have him, so that's all well and good.

The good news is that any frustrations detractors have had with the movie regarding plot or character development have a good chance of being remedied in the sequel, as this time there's no game of chicken being played with another studio to get out of the gate first and still have enough time to actually make a movie.  Meaning Koepp will have plenty of time to flesh out his script as much as he wants, so yay for that.

Charlize Theron rocks

Extra Tidbit: I think I've posted more pictures of Charlize Theron than any other actress, and I am 100% okay with that.

Um

Without Charlize? Don't think so.

Snow Whiter?

There was something about that long final shot that just said 'sequels'. Ravenna could be the new Fu Manchu!

It was known before the film even came out that it is meant to be a trilogy if the money was good. If the ending leaves you hanging, it is supposed to. I knew this going into the film. Others who did not know that the story is going to continue were miffed at the unresolved ending.

Not even the visuals could save this dull, boring movie. Talk about unwanted sequals. Did Wrath of the Titans teach Hollywood nothing?

Surprised no one else hated the movie. Good lord it was awful. I hate Kristen Stewart with a passion, but this director even made Charlize Theron look bad at times. No easy feat.

And Stewart's speech at the end? Holy hell was that hard to watch. I felt embarrassed to be there.

Haven't felt that duped by a trailer since Terminator: Salvation or Catfish.

I had a feeling they'd go for a sequel after seeing the ending of the film. But they covered the traditional basics of the Snow White tale in the first movie. In terms of story, I'm not sure what a sequel is going to add.

I don't know what it is but....

pics of hot chicks with a bit of hair hiding one of their eyes just launches the hottness factor through the roof. It makes no sense to me, maybe its some sort of idea of added mystique or something but it just turns me on!

The big question fo Koepp:

how the hell do you bring back Charlize Theron's character? She was easily the best thing in that movie. Kristen Stewart does a good job within her limitations but she was seriously out of her depth here.

Doesn't exactly demand a sequel but I'll see it. We can always use another cool fantasy movie.

I loved the film but I honestly don't care to see a sequel. Snow White and the Huntsman serves well enough on its own and a large part of its awesome factor is because of Charlize Theron.

*Spoilers Ahead*

Well not really spoilers but just putting that there in case somebody didn't already see this coming. Since Charlize won't be in the sequel, I'm already not interested. It's not that Kristen wasn't decent in the role but I can see them heading into Twilight territory with sequels and

No thanks!

Wow Charlize looks like an angel descended from Heaven in that pic.
