The Seth Rogen & James Franco comedy The Interview will arrive on Christmas

08.07.2014

THE INTERVIEW marks the second written/directed film by the duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Their first, THIS IS THE END, proved to be a profitable venture for the two as it grossed over $100 million domestically on a $32 million budget. THE INTERVIEW looks to take political satire to a whole new level and it's bound to be one of the best Christmas presents you'll receive this year, as it's now opening on Christmas Day.

Here's the international trailer:

This new release date will put the movie up against the likes of BIG EYES, INTO THE WOODS, SELMA and UNBROKEN. While none of those seem like they would be tapping into THE INTERVIEW's audience, HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 is also slated for a Christmas release. It should be interesting to see if that'll remain the same going forward. Otherwise, Seth Rogen and James Franco have more than proven that they're a charismatic duo, so I'm looking forward to what they can bring to a movie of this scale.

I'm actually really looking forward to this. I love a good political satire, and the visual gags here make it look promising. A little light on the reparte, so I get why some folks might not trust it. But the production design (and the fact they're opening it on friggin' Christmas!) have me feeling pretty optimistic.

As for Hot Tub Time Machine 2, I know the first one did well, I didn't know it did well enough to justify a holiday release.

Have to agree with ConMan. Both of them are hilarious and talented as hell, but for some reason this doesn't look all that interesting. At all.

Who knows, maybe it was just a shitty first trailer.

Absolutely ZERO interest in seeing this. Doesnt look funny at all. Every time the trailer comes on in a movie I zone out for the two mins.
