The third season of Hannibal finally sets a premiere date

03.06.2015

“They’re making a TV series based on Hannibal? That’s going to be stupid."

That’s what I said two years ago, those are the actual words that came out of my mouth. Imagine my surprise when Hannibal not only turned out to be great, but that it wound up being my favourite show on TV. It’s been a long wait for the show's third season but we can finally see the light at the end of that long dark murderous tunnel.

Hannibal will return on June 4th at 10/9c on NBC.

In addition to that great news, creator Bryan Fuller also posted a few posters broadcasting the premiere on Twitter.

The show has been shooting exteriors and certain scenes in Florence, Italy but headed back to its usual stomping grounds of Toronto, Canada to film the remainder of the season. With the addition of Zachary Quinto, Richard Armitage, Joe Anderson, and Rutina Wesley joining the Hannibal team, I have high expectations for this season and really hope it sees a much deserved ratings increase because if any show deserves it...it's this one.

If you’re not watching the show I highly recommend that you give it a chance; it’s easily the most stylish thing on TV and is filled great stories and stunning twists. Just don’t get too attached to the characters. You all watch Game of Thrones, you know how it goes.

I wanted to hate it so badly

It's the best show on television, right along with Game of Thrones. It's on that level of quality. The two leads are redefining these characters. Sort of like Ledger's Joker: everyone thought Nicholson would never be topped. Same with Hopkins and now Mads as Lecter.

As a side note, only one character that I actually cared for/liked died so far and I'm fine with all the others who died so, for me, it's not comparable on that department to Game of Thrones.

As for the quality of the show I am among the ones who though this would be absolutely stupid but ended up loving it. Surely on my top3 current TV shows.

I too was very skeptical

Mads is by far the best interpretation of the Hannibal character, but the true beauty of this show comes from it's amazing visuals and dialogue. I hope it eventually is recognized for being utterly brilliant and ground breaking like Breaking Bad was.

Watch this show.

Game of Thrones, sure. Walking Dead, maybe. But Hannibal is by far - the darkest most well written high style show on television. Great article, as I too, doubted the possibilities at first.
