The trailer for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn proves that the video game should be given the big screen treatment

Jul. 13, 2012by: Alex Maidy

How long have we been waiting for a HALO movie? It seems like only yesterday that Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp were going to bring the Master Chief saga to the big screen. Even Guillermo Del Toro and Steven Spielberg have had their names attached to the project in one capacity or another.

While a HALO movie will likely be made someday, we will have at least something to watch in the form of HALO 4: FORWARD UNTO DAWN. The long anticipated live action web series had it's trailer debut at Comic Con and it is pretty impressive.

Plot: A live-action digital series that takes fans back to the terrifying beginning of the Human/Covenant war, when the Master Chief inspired a young cadet who would eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC's greatest vessel: the UNSC Infinity.

Now, I am a Nintendo man myself, but I cannot deny the sheer awesomeness that HALO presents as a cinematic property. FORWARD UNTO DAWN looks like a nice step up for the franchise. I will definitely be checking the web series out when it premieres on October 5th.

Looks REALLY good...How could they NOT make HALO into a full length film after seeing this?! And I'm not even a fan of the game and I'd be psyched to see a movie!

It does look very reminiscent of a lot of "space boot camp"-type films and TV shows, but the production values are freaking high for a web series. I think the Mortal Kombat web series paved the way, and hopefully ventures such as this will serve as proving grounds for feature films based on video games. Also, was that Carrie-Anne Moss I spied in addition to Anna Popplewell?

Yeah, looks like a rip off of Starship Troopers.

I love Halo and would love to see a Halo film, i would be epic. This looks kinda lame, the acting was terrible. The shots looked unprofessional and cheesy. I hope i'm wrong.

The shot of Master Chief was sweet though.

I keep fucking saying it and I hope someday someone....

Reads what I write, get the fucking people who makes these trailers for halo and write them and direct them to make a movie. Is it that hard? Or at least a small web show or something. Because everyone I see gets more epic then the last. This one was insane. I was actually pissed off at the end because i wanted it to be a movie. I wish the game was like this. That would make it 20000000 times better
