The trailer for the Coen's Hail, Caesar! features an eclectic ensemble

10.09.2015

HAIL, CAESAR! is a comedic period picture set in the 1950s that follows Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), a Hollywood fixer who works for the studios to protect their movie stars (and their squeaky-clean reputations) from gossip rags and jealous rivals eager to expose salacious scandals. Get a glimpse at Joel and Ethan Coen's latest picture with the first trailer!

If you were keeping track, you saw the likes of Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Clancy Brown, Scarlett Johansson and Jonah Hill in the trailer for the Coen's latest. The duo never fail to put together an exciting cast and the 1950s period really lends itself to the wacky nature of the story. If anything, this movie looks to give audiences a nostalgic, if not skewed, look back at the Hollywood of yesteryear.

HAIL, CAESAR! will open in theaters on February 5, 2016.

Cast change?

I thought George Clooney was supposed to play the "hollywood fixer." Either way, the ensembles that they seem to put together is always fascinating. So much talent on one screen

I know, I hated all those things that got stolen and people that were kidnapped in Inside Llewyn Davis, or True Grit, or A Serious Man...wait what plot is this stealing from again? Regardless, recurring motifs are pretty common in great artists' work.

Leave it to the Coens Brothers to really breathe life into all of their films with eccentric, and quirky characters. Can't wait.

Take my money, dammit!

Any time the Coens get George Clooney, they have my attention. Clooney always gets their kind of humour, and he sells it beautifully. The rest of the cast, especially Scarlett Johansson, kills it as well. I suspect this film will go a long way in killing the whole "Scarlett's overrated" crap that keeps floating around.

Looks like Burn After Reading meets Barton Fink. I'll be honest, I'm not as excited for this Coen outing, but they're still my favorite filmmakers and the cast looks great as usual. Glad to see Frances McDormand working with them again.

I take it back. After realizing that this is very likely the same Capital Pictures that Jack Lipnick ran, I'm definitely on board.

Why wouldn't she? Last I checked (2 seconds ago), she's still married to Joel Coen. She's also an excellent actress.

Well now I have to take back all the nice things I said about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Cuz this trailer just kicked PPZ's teeth in. Even the damn song in the trailer.
Bless you Coens.
