The truth capsizes a murderous plot in the new Serenity trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Aviron Pictures has permitted another trailer for SERENITY to set sail, which provides us with a more intimate look at the bizarre circumstances surrounding the upcoming dramatic thriller. Directed and written by DIRTY PRETTY THINGS and EASTERN PROMISES scribe Steve Knight, SERENITY stars Matthew McConaughey (DALLAS BUYER'S CLUB, THE DARK TOWER), Anne Hathaway (RACHEL GETTING MARRIED, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES), Diane Lane (UNFAITHFUL, UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN), Jason Clarke (ZERO DARK THIRTY, EVEREST) and Djimon Hounsou (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, GLADIATOR).

In the upcoming film, the mysterious past of a fishing boat captain comes back to haunt him, when his ex-wife tracks him down with a desperate plea for help, ensnaring his life in a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

As you can see from the trailer above, Hathaway's character appears to be quite the puppetmaster, with regard to stringing together a murder plot most foul. As she spins her lies, McConaughey's sea captain cannot help but become ensnared in her net of misinformation, lust, and revenge. There's no telling who will come out of the ordeal alive, and who will be left to feed the fish at the bottom of the ocean when SERENITY embarks for theaters come January 25, 2019.
