The Walking Dead could potentially run for at least 5 more seasons

There have been a lot of stories recently about The Walking Dead experiencing a ratings slip, but as one of the number one shows on TV, everything is relative. The show still has a strong undead heartbeat and isn't go anywhere anytime soon. In fact, series creator Robert Kirkman had this to say in a recent interview with ComicBook.com:

It took us 6 seasons to get to [issue] 100. It won’t take us 6 years to get to 200 and that will take us to season … TWELVE. And we’ll still be ahead of the show at that point.

At this rate, Walking Dead is going to keep running until its stars are old and grey. I hope Andrew Lincoln likes that Southern accent, because he may never use his real voice ever again.

The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Austin Nichols, Xander Berkeley, Austin Amelio, and Tom Payne.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead will be returning to AMC on February 12, 2017, with a half-season that will be very different from the first half.
