There's no love lost between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in the trailer for Blended

Dec. 17, 2013by: Niki Stephens

A new trailer for the latest Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore movie BLENDED is here. Wait, weren't we just talking about this being made? Okay so it was like late July when we talked about the title change from BLENDED to THE FAMILYMOON. I'm glad they threw that out and went with the original title because it sucked.

Does this trailer suck? Um

"Believe me, Frodo, I don't like her either."

Synopsis:

After a disastrous blind date, single parents Lauren and Jim agree on only one thing: they never want to see each other again. But when they each sign up separately for a fabulous family vacation with their kids, they are all stuck sharing a suite at a luxurious African safari resort for a week in Blended, the third comedy collaboration between stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

One of my favorite parts about this and GRANDMA'S BOY was Abdoulaye N'Gom. That guy is hilarious. There's also Terry Crews in the mix. He's one of my favorite comedic actors. As for Sandler and Barrymore, I'm glad to see them in another film. I think this definitely looks better than Sandler's last seven movies. I love the guy but I'm ready for him to move onto something different. I'm thinking that Jason Reitman's MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN will be a true return for the actor. That said, I did crack a couple of times during the trailer but it didn't win me over.

BLENDED hits theaters on May 23, 2014.

Great, now Adam Sandler is involving Drew Barrymore in his ongoing trend of terrible movies. I'm guessing I won't be adding this title to the shelf alongside The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, which is a shame because I really like both of those movies. Blended just looks terrible and it doesn't look like even Drew Barrymore could add any charm to it. I might Redbox it one day if I have a free rental code to spare.

Let's see how racist this movie can be.

Drew Barrymore is WAY too good for this movie.

Lightning may have struck twice for the duo, but third time will not be charm.

Looks fun

Sorry I am not a Sandler hater, I know it is the popular thing to do these days but this looks like a decent movie. I always liked the pairing of Sandler and Barrymore, they have a good chemistry.

It's popular to hate on Sandler as these days he churns out garbage that insults his core audience.

Pairings don't always work in different types of films. I can just tell that them being at odds against each other will not make for a good dynamic between the two. Plus, annoying kids, another problem with current Sandler films.

This comes out the same day as X-Men DOFP.. so Blended should make about five million opening night.

Would anyone be surprised if this movie made more money opening weekend than X-Men: DOFP? No matter how bad Sandler's films are, they always make a lot of money (with some exceptions), and First Class didn't do great.

Not that this is what I want, but it demonstrates an unfortunate trend.

Well, at least they didn't switch bodies when they said "wait tell I tell the kids we are going to Africa."

This looks terrible and has a terrible name, but I will say I laughed when Terry Crews appeared, and I never think he's funny either

Terry Crews dancing for 2 seconds and the line "she can say butthole if she wants" were the only two slightly amusing things in the whole trailer to me... weird to say, but I'd rather watch Jack and Jill than this.

i'll admit

It does look better than Sandlers last few movies. I loved "Wedding Singer" and like "50 First Dates" well enough. I think i'm willing to give this a chance on redbox someday.

I really hope Adam Sandler pulls out of this slump and starts making better movies

Sandler Vacation

I think it was obvious a couple movies back that these movies are an excuse for him to film somewhere nice.

Sandler should go back to his roots...

I'm not a huge fan of sequels but I'm surprised they haven't made a Happy Gilmore 2. I would pay to see that as long as it stays true to the original.

trailer rundown

Trailer rundown

-Happy Madison logo- immediately I'm worried for this movie
- Product Placement in the first 15 seconds of the trailer (Dicks sporting goods and Hooters) check
- Sandler lives as a wealthy person with a job that he can leave and take his family to Africa on a drop of a hat- check
- Disney Channel star in movie (Bella Thorne) as one of Sandler's kids- check
-Luxurious exotic place obviously used for shoots/another Sandler Vacation- Check
- Sandler doing his high pitched

- Sandler doing his high pitched squeal while riding an Ostrich-check
-Stereotypical Jew looking character (drew's kid who looks nothing like Frodo)- Check
-Cameo from a Sandler buddy (Kevin Nealon)- check
- All of the comedy coming from everyone but Sandler- Check

All in all another typical Sandler movie from Happy Madison. 2 people start off not liking each other, a misunderstanding occurs, they see the beauty inside each other over time. By the end of the film they get together (or their eldest kids will be dating). More BS making Sandler's character look amazing in every way. Only positive thing is the Terry Crews bit which is truly amazing due to his energy.

It looks like shit, but will probably make 100 million cause it's sandler and people are fucking stupid.

These two made magic two times in a row

I don't think they will do it a third time. Outside of Terry Crews dancing like a fool this doesn't look promising.

While that shot of Terry Crews needs to be made into a GIF immediately, because that will brighten my day no matter how terrible my mood gets, that movie looks beyond dreadful.

Is that a comedy?

Honestly I didn't see one thing in that trailer that was even remotely funny or amusing...Happy Gilmore is dead to me.

Okay, I know this is going to be terrible. But I won't lie, it doesn't look nearly as bad (or at least as casually offensive) as the typical Sandler yarn. Plus, while 50 First Dates blew, he and Barrymore had real chemistry in The Wedding Singer.
