These two new posters show The Amazing Spider-Man in action and battle-weary

Well then never fear - your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is here!

On a side note, I do agree with anyone who says that the design for The Lizard really should be more beastly. Right now it just looks too clean and neat for my personal taste, but as I've said time and time again I'm still quite excited for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. At the very least and if nothing else this movie can serve as an entertaining appetizer in advance of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

You can decide for yourself if Sony has done something more worthwhile than just a cash-in to keep the rights on July 3rd.

Extra Tidbit: Spidey is very lucky that his hand isn't any more centered in that second poster, or else his pinky would make things look very awkward...

lol leave it to the extra tidbit to noticed something like that! i still think they rebooted the franchise so they would avoid giving the rights back to Marvel considering the streak that Marvel Studios has been on since IM

Long

The poster would be alright but I wonder who was in charge of torso design the day this was made, its too long, makes him almost look like "Mr. Fantastic-Spiderman"

I see Sony kept the same poster maker who did the Raimi versions, except Sony told them to make them blue instead of orange. Whatever.

I do like the streets forming the Spider-Man logo in the top one. My guess is some clever designer created that with the intention of having it be the focus of the poster, but then the studio freaked out about it lacking an actual guy in a costume.

How come his lenses are reflective in one poster and base in the other? It's just lazy. Not to mention the whole 'what the fuck is swinging from?' thing. Sony needs to pull their head out of their ass.

Still looks great

I'm still high on this film, it looks as if they took the material seriously and dropped the whimsy.

I still love what Raimi did with the franchise even if part 3 was silly but Webb looks to have taken great care to give us the definitive offering for this character and mythos .

It's odd because even with one of SM's more fantastical villains as the nemesis in this film the proceedings appear to be grounded in a reality the Raimi versions had a difficult time touching.

No Campbell and

No Campbell and Bro of Raimi cameos either, or someone singing the SM cartoon theme.

Anyway, this and TDKR are going to be a powerful combination.

I really don't see the problem with another origin story if that particular story has yet to be told effectively, in this latest version it finally seems as if it will

Not too interested

Spidey 4 would have had me at the theater opening week, this I may rent once it's on BluRay, but not in any real hurry to see this. Rebooted WAY too soon!

I'm sure the 8th reboot in 2015 will be good.

I really do not want to sit through another hour of a spiderman origin story, just to see the action in the last half of the movie.

This. I wish that eventually this franchise would return to Marvel Studios, i seems that they truly understand what it takes to showcase these characters.

The posters, trailers and marketing campaign for Spidey 1-3 had me itching to see each one. I have tried, but cannot muster any real enthusiasm for this one. I really wanted Spidey 4 with Dylan Baker as Lizard, with or without Raimi and Maguire. I just don't see myself paying 12+ to see another origin story so soon.

is it wrong that i feel nothing?

i keep seeing stills and posters and teasers and I dont feel anything. there is no quickening of my pulse and no nerd-gasm associated with this movie. When i saw the poster for TDKR with the crumbling buildings i had a chill run down my spine. when i saw the last Avengers trailer, my head exploded. Here, nothing. Is there something wrong with me? Or this movie?

a little bit of both? I can understand where you coming from apart from TDKR since at least to me i'm getting a tiny bit tired of all the batman craziness but that's just me.

Lazy

That second poster is nearly the exact same as the one for "Spider-Man 2", but with a blue background instead of gold. Are they serious with this shit??

I get the feeling that this film could be this summer's Green Lantern. I don't mean that in terms of quality, it could be a fine film (or not), but I think it is getting really lost in the shuffle of the big summer event films. I don't know anyone that has any anticipation or excitement about this film. My two sons (ages 8 and 10) weren't even aware of it when I asked them about it a week ago. Regardless of how good the film is, the marketing of this film has been horrible.

I generally agree with your sentiment. But I think the real problem that I have and probably plenty of the other people complaining is this:
The marketing department is spending millions upon millions of dollars and they are churning out shitty, lazy photoshop jobs like this when you can look at deviantART, Tumblr, and plenty of other places and find just regular, artistic folks making fan posters which are sooo much better than what the "professionals" are making.
Just my two cents.

For Poster #1, where is he standing and why is he at such an awkward angle? For Poster #2, is his web attached to a plane or something? I just can't see anything good coming from this movie, everything just seems redundant and unnecessary.

I'm a comic book to movies fan and will watch them regardless so that more will be made (I sat through Green Lantern and Ghost Rider 2 for the cause!). I actually like the look of this film and don't understand the hate (it's not like the previous trilogy was a masterpiece it was okay...hugely let down by the third one which sucked horribly). That said, what's with the second poster...he's so high up...what's he swinging from...and swinging to?

I'm truly excited about this movie (I hate the Sam Raimi Spider-man trilogy), but the poster/overall marketing design of the movie are a let down. It is very bland, and very similar to the previous Spider-Man movies. I know it's a "dark" version, but the posters could use more color and more than just Spider-Man hanging out on top of skyscrapers. Also, why do they keep choosing such terrible fonts. Iron-man, Cap. America, Avengers, all had a nice and unique font, and a look representative of

Not sure if I like all of the posters looking the same, just different angles.

Anyway, I'm excited as HELL for this film. I am a die hard fan of the original trilogy so hopefully this film keeps up that same great quality of the previous Spider Man films.

wtf

I understand ripping off Nolan's Batman, but to go as far as ripping off the posters? Look at the spider symbol in the first poster to the left of his head... This is like looking at an Asylum poster and the movie will more than likely suck just as bad as one.

People for whatever reason have a huge dick up their ass about Raimi's Spiderman. The trilogy was average at best with the 3rd being a total turd. These are probably the same fanboys who think Eps 1-3 are the shit also
