This Batman v Superman deleted scene teases trouble for the Justice League

03.28.2016

batman v superman dawn of justice league ben affleck henry cavill gal gadot wonder woman

Now that BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is out and everyone has had a chance to see it, arguably some of the most divisive material of the film were glimpses of DCEU material that non-fans know nothing about. We're talking hints of uber-baddie Darkseid and his parademons, a time/dimension-traveling Flash and intros to some Justice League members. If you enjoyed that material, however, you may find this deleted scene from the film VERY interesting. Take a look!

So what the hell is going on here? Well, fans are already theorizing that this big guy resembles Steppenwolf, an Apokoliptian General and a member of Darkseid's Elite. As the story in the comics go, Steppenwolf lead an army against Earth in the name of Darkseid during the Apokolips War. He went on to kill Wonder Woman and Superman before finally being defeated by Batman. So is this a hint of what's to come in the first JUSTICE LEAGUE film, or just something thrown in for comic fans? We'll have to wait until next year to find out!

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE will hit theaters on November 17, 2017.

I don't really follow DC comics at all

But I enjoy the movies. But this quote, " He went on to kill Wonder Woman and Superman before finally being defeated by Batman." just bothers me and just creates more hate for Batman within me.

I liked BvS, didn't loved it, but I thinks it was a decent start for the DCU. But things like this deleted scene are a sign that Snyder's director cut will probably be a really cool movie. It's a shame we can't see it in cinemas.

Yuga Kahn!

I think it's Yuga Kahn. Father of Darkseid. The only person Darkseid fears. Looks like him. Could also be Steppenwolf, but most iterations of him look nothing like this. If it is Yuga Kahn, it could be setting up a much larger universe.

I think you're right! Had to google him, but the resemblance is huge. And he would make more sense to be in Krypton's history"books"
Thanks for that info!

Looks great and I really wish they had released the entire damn director's cut in theaters, instead of just the version we got instead. I think a lot of the naysayers are going to appreciate the DC Universe building and the whole film in itself that much more once they see the entire film in the cut it was intended to be in.

Why was this cut?

This could of explained certain things that was not clear. Why not cut all that crap with Lois and those useless Daily Planet scenes.

Average movie goer wouldn't have any clue who Steppenwolf is, so it's understandable to keep Amy Adams on screen more, but I would have freaked had I saw this in the movie lol

"This could of explained certain things that was not clear."

because it was clearly explained. When Lex first walks into the scout ship, and the computer tells him they have information on over 10,000 worlds Lex then proceeds to say..Tell me everything.

Remember, as a director, you have to treat your audience with respect and assume they will PAY ATTENTION and LISTEN.

This scene is great however.

Destiny

Cool, now WB is copying Destiny, too. Along with, you know, all the space elements from the MCU.

good job at trolling. Considering Marvel fully admits Thanos was a blatant ripoff of Darkseid.

Correction: Steppenwolf

Update: Thanks to boomstick54, that looks pretty much like Yuga Khan, father of Darkseid.

Original Post: Steppenwolf was my first guess too and Mother Boxes of course. What a cool and creepy scene, I like that the kryptonian technology gets used again.
Lex's prison talk makes way more sense with this scene.
I see why regular people get confused, but as a DC fan, this is awesome! Can't wait for the Ultimate Cut!

What was that?!?!?!

After seeing the movie (twice), I am actually pretty excited about the extended cut. The world building here is just astonishing. I cannot wait to see the designs for Darkseid. What this movie set up for the future will have me waiting with bated breath on the next installment. If you really think about it, this Lex Luthor, was the most evil version I've ever seen committed to screen. There is some truly horrible stuff he did behind the scenes to orchestrate this battle.
