This is what the end of the world looks like in The Divide

12.09.2011by:

Anchor Bay is getting ready to release THE DIVIDE early next year and has decided to post the very opening scene of the film for your enjoyment. As you'll soon see, the film's about a group of New Yorkers that escape into the basement of their apartment building when a nuclear attack hits the city. (Will you stop blowing up my city, filmmakers? We get it!)

The film was directed by Xavier Gens (FRONTIER(S), HITMAN) and stars Lauren German, Michael Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia, Courtney B. Vance, Ivan Gonzalez, Michael Eklund, Abbey Thickson, Ashton Holmes and Rosanna Arquette.

The film's supposed to focus on the stress and tension that the nine survivors face so this might be the most effects-laden sequence of the film. But as you can imagine- stick a bunch of New Yorkers together in an enclosed area and all hell will break lose... they might have been safer outside.

THE DIVIDE hits theaters January 13, 2012. Enjoy the rest of your lives!

Seen it last summer at Fantasia in Montreal. Actually a decent enough movie. Nothing ground braking but worth seeing!

No.
A fucking basement wouldn't do one half of a god damn thing against a nuclear explosion. It's like basing an entire movie around "nuking the fridge". This movie demands more suspension of disbelief than it can support. Even pretending a basement could withstand the blast, there's the huge issue of fallout, which seeps through just about every material.
