This new Preacher teaser proves the show actually has a sense of humor

Preacher is looking to be an exciting trip into a non-Marvel comic universe, but a lot of the promotional material for the show (which is executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, for crying out loud) has been too earnest and serious. However, this new promo, titled "Under Control," proves that Preacher has more than just dour pouts coming our way. It's a charming thirty second spot that can make you laugh more than once in less than a minute.

Action, laughs, Ruth Negga. What else could you want from a new show? Check out the promo below!

Preacher centers on

Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

The show's pilot was written by Sam Catlin, who also serves as showrunner. The show also stars Ian Colletti, Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Elizabeth Perkins, Tom Brooke, Jamie Anne Allman, Derek Wilson, Ricky Mabe, and Jackie Earle Haley.

The beginning is nigh. AMC airs the first episode of Preacher on Sunday, May 22 at 10pm.
