Five new clips for the upcoming Wes Anderson film, MOONRISE KINGDOM, have been popping up all over the web today and we've collected them all here for your viewing pleasure.  Each clip highlights a variety of characters and they all have the flavor that is typical of Wes Anderson's style, which to me is awesome.  Quite a few don't get Anderson's style and relent back to the whole "hipster" bullshit, but that's pretty weak to me.  Anderson is a consistent auteur who manages to bring his A-game to every project.  I have my favorites, sure, but each of his films brings something unique. I have no doubt that MOONRISE KINGDOM will do the same, especially from the trailer and these new clips.

Enjoy:

Here's the synopsis:

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore – and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in every which way. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff, Captain Sharp. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader, Scout Master Ward. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Bob Balaban; and introduces Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.

MOORNRISE KINGDOM opens on May 16, 2012

I would have to say...

Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limited and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Or. No, wait. That's the order all the movies came out and I can't pick a favorite. They're like how people can't pick a favorite kid, but admittedly like certain qualities from them.

When it comes to which Wes Anderson movie is my favorite, it depends on my mood, though The Royal Tenenbaums is usually number one if I had to pick.

I truly, truly, truly cannot wait for this

Wes Anderson is like the fedora of hipsters... He himself is cool, but he gets tarnished by a group of idiots in tight jeans.

Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, Mr. Fox.

Looking forward to this one.

This looks awesome btw. I love Wes. And I totally agree, the whole 'indie/hipster' tag that people love to ridicule him with are ridiculous, yet everyone loves JGL who's basically the hipster king.

Somewhere deep inside Wes Anderson... there is a horror filmmaker waiting to come out.

Can't wait for May 16th now.

I still haven't seen The Darjeeling Limited, but I do mostly agree with that ranking.
