Tim Burton exhibition!

Acclaimed director Tim Burton will be the subject of "Tim Burton," a major exhibition at Gotham's Museum of Modern Art beginning Nov. 22 and running through April 26 2010. Featured, will be over 700 pieces including paintings, drawings, storyboards, puppets, and a bunch of other random shit Burton has thought up in his lifetime. For the first time ever, some of Burton's student films and work before he became a major Hollywood professional, will be on show.

Considering the art style of his movies, plus his personality, this should make for one hell of an exhibit. Perfect pick to showcase.

His artwork or doodles always appealed to me as kid after seeing his films PEEWEE, BEETLEJUICE & BATMAN. They certainly urged me to go outside the Disney style box while learning to draw and create. One that I distinctly remember is the design for the Joker, which was way creepier than Nicholsons final design, I wish his films still carried that same imagination and not become a simple trademark for promotion. Its a shame that he rarely does original material anymore; I think the last one was
