If you've been waiting to travel TOAD ROAD your wait is almost over as we now have word that Jason Banker's Fantasia hit will be hitting limited theaters next month and we've got the details for you below!

This October, Artsploitation Films, the cutting-edge film distribution company founded by TLA Entertainment president Raymond Murray, in association with Elijah Wood's genre-themed production company, SpectreVision and Random Bench, will unleash the haunting and mesmerizing TOAD ROAD via limited theatrical release. The film has been described as a hallucinatory and hypnotic odyssey through mutating realities, drug use, urban legends, and nightmares which follows a young college student who befriends a group  of hard partying friends and finds herself drawn into the local legend of Toad Road—a pathway in the forest rumored to contain the seven gates that lead directly to Hell.

Jason Banker directed and produced TOAD ROAD, marking it his first narrative feature which earned praise from audiences and critics alike last fall at the influential Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, where it won awards for Best Director and Best Actor (James Davidson). You can check out our own Chris Bumbray's take on the film HERE.

TOAD ROAD is a local urban legend about a path in the woods rumored to contain the 7 gates that lead to hell.  The film follows a group of friends with few inhibitions and no boundaries perilously mixing drug use with self discovery. In Toad Road, verité footage, drug use, drunken pranks, and personal issues comprise a disturbing portrait of contemporary youth culture where the lines between perception and reality are blurred with frightening results.

The film opens Friday, October 18th at the Arena Cinema in Los Angeles, and in New York at Cinema Village on Friday, October 25th. Not in the area to take in those screenings? Don't sweat it, as Artsploitation Films will be following up the theatrical release with a DVD/VOD release on December 10th.

As we near the October 18 release we can expect to see some new teaser clips and some new character posters come our way, so keep checking in.
