Tom Jane not Hex

Sep. 1, 2008by: James Thoo
Poor Thomas Jane. After it came out that he had done an unsanctioned pic of himself as Jonah Hex in the hopes of landing the role, it turns out now that he in fact hasn't scored himself the gig. Directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine quashed the rumor on The Movie Blog Uncut:

We're excited about looking for the lead... We have some options for Jonah Hex.... We had never brought his name up, he's great, we like him...We don't see the guy as Jonah Hex, to be quite honest with you. But we like him. We're totally stoked that he would do that, it's so awesome... He'll show up in one of our movies."

Why does no one seem to appreciate Thomas Jane? The guy is awesome. I see him much like an older version of me. People often point out the similarities. I can laugh them off all I want but they are undeniable and at some point a DNA test will surely be in order.
Extra Tidbit: I know this has nothing to do with anything but I think 'T-Jane' would be a dynamite stage name if he ever went into the hip hop game.

Name any other actor that would be that cool?

Sad to see it won't be him. It was very cool that a pretty big actor would be that awesome and do that? Yes it is presuming, but it is still pretty sweet.

KickyBonKickerton

I think Brian Helgeland (Mystic River, The Order) would probably rather not be making a movie based on a comic that probably took some inspiration from the character Parker (or Porter), when he could work on much more prestigious films.

In other news, all I can say is I'm surprised they never had the guy on their list, but I consider any time someone makes a public plea to no particular party that they're game for a particular role, without addressing the filmmaker(s) formally, I consider it

So basically, all those rumored "Riddler" actors aren't gonna make the cut in my opinion.

Would have been sweet

Wow! I could totally see Jane as Hex...too bad the best person for the job isn't always cast. Wait, I should say, 'Almost never cast'. Yea, that's better.

I think he is honestly better than those two directors though. All he needs is a really dramatic role. The Mist was great, but it was a little seen horror film. I still loved him as The Punisher... :-(

Damn You Hollywood!

After The Mist, you still don;t think the guy can do WHATVERE he wants? You still don;t think he has the chops to play such a dynamic character? You saw the mock-up, he certainly can look the part... I hate the powers that be in film making...
