Tracy Morgan and Juliette Binoche bizarre up the cast of Son of No One

This one's kinda strange. From writer-director Dito Montiel (A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS) comes the ensemble cop drama SON OF NO ONE. Lovely French actress Juliette Binoche comes aboard to play a reporter, while funnyman Tracy Morgan steps in to replace Terrence Howard? Okay!

The two new cast members join an already pretty heavy line up that includes Channing Tatum, Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, and Katie Holmes. The film, according to THR, is led by Tatum, "who plays a young cop assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, with an old secret surfacing and threatening to destroy his life and family." Morgan, as the character "Vinnie", will play the friend of Tatum's young cop.

Morgan's just coming off the pretty horrendously-received COP OUT, and it's just so weird now to see him presumably playing a straight, non-comedic role in a cop drama. Is this the first drama Morgan has ever done? How do you think he'll fare?

SON OF NO ONE is looking at a release sometime in 2011.
Extra Tidbit: Director Dito Montiel directed Channing Tatum in fisticuff action in last year's FIGHTING (which also starred Terrence Howard).
