The First Poster and Trailer for V/H/S: Viral Go Full Crazy

05.13.2014

V/H/S: VIRAL is the upcoming third film in the horror anthology series with a debut trailer for you to check out. It puts a recap on the series so far and then goes all out with shots from the latest chapter. The movie features segments from directors Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial), Marcel Sarmiento (ABCs of Death segment “D is for Dogfight”), Gregg Bishop (The Birds of Anger), Justin Benson (Wrecked) and Todd Lincoln (The Apparition).

Good luck putting a story together from the trailer, so here’s the synopsis:

Fame-obsessed teens hell-bent on capturing the next viral video discover they are the stars of the latest internet sensation. V/H/S VIRAL is the third and most intense installment in the groundbreaking horror franchise from the world’s top genre filmmakers. V/H/S: VIRAL’s segments include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power, a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world, teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual, and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer. The segments are tied together by the story of a group of fame-obsessed teens following a violent car chase in LA that unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.

If you’re a fan of the series then I’m sure you’re looking forward to this entry. For me though, I’m pretty tired of the found-footage horror scene. I couldn’t tell the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY movies apart if my life depended on it - now there’s a movie idea!  It's not something I'm proud of, I enjoy messing my pants with fear as much as the next guy, more so perhaps.  It's just a lot of these movies are not offering up anything new or exciting; it's the same old shtick, just in a different house or with creepier little kids.

On the bright side though, this poster is pretty sweet.

So fuckin awesome

YES!!! I love these flicks so much each one so far was so damn creepy and had so many WTF moments in it. I think of it sort of like our RINGU kind of films. This one looked fuckin insanely crazy. I hope they keep making them every year till they run out of ideas or they just get stupid. But as of right now keep them coming I wish these were in theaters instead of the shit we keep getting I would of love to see these in theaters. Hoepfully they can release 1,2 and 3 back to back that'll be sick.

I Know I'm in the minority here

But I loved both the first and second one. Safe Haven was without doubt the best story from either, but overall I prefer the first one because it had a couple of genuine scares. I hope this one will be more scary than campy as well, but look forward to it regardless!

SAFE HAVEN as far as I'm concerned was the only amazing short to come out of the first two films so hopefully this one can do the same.

The first one had some good shorts, but it was somewhat disappointing. The second one was a major improvement and I really liked it.This one looks like one hell of a good time.

Hope this one turns our better than the first two who were painful to watch. I found them to be typical low budget horror movies. I miss the good old days of low budget when the people behind them were able to do something good.
