Trailer for great looking indie drama Hellion starring Aaron Paul

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Aaron Paul has certainly been keeping busy since driving away from the chaos in BREAKING BAD. You may have seen him a few months back in NEED FOR SPEED and you might even be looking forward to seeing him in the adaptation of Nick Hornby’s A LONG WAY DOWN or DECODING ANNIE PARKER later this year. You basically won't be able to miss him.

Now we have the first trailer for writer/director Kat Candler's HELLION trailer starring Aaron (who also produced); he doesn’t have a lot to say in the trailer but hell if he isn't the best Hollywood has to offer when it comes to brooding. Our own Chris Bumbray reviewed the movie earlier this year (and is quoted in the trailer) calling it a gem and said Candler is a director to watch.

Here’s the synopsis:

Aaron Paul stars in this riveting drama about a family under siege. Hard-drinking Texas single dad Hollis (Paul) struggles to raise his two boys, including rebellious teenager Jacob (Josh Wiggins). Seething with anger, Jacob finds release in the high-risk, white-knuckle world of motocross—but his increasingly reckless behavior threatens to spin out of control. Juliette Lewis co-stars in this thrilling saga of fathers and sons that builds towards a heart-stopping climax, all set to an electrifying heavy metal soundtrack.

I love how they mentioned the heavy metal soundtrack in the synopsis; you have to admire their effort to get any and all audiences in the seats for this one. Personally I love family dramas and coming-of-age tales, and the moodier the better. Newcomer Josh Wiggins looks to give a great breakthrough performance and the pairing of Juliette Lewis and Aaron Paul is just perfect. Check this one out!

HELLION opens in theaters on June 13th 2014.
