Trailer for Scorsese’s Hugo is certainly a switch in tone

We all know and love Scorsese as one of the greatest directors ever work in Hollywood, but does his usually brutal style and subject matter translate into of all things, a kids movie? That’s what we’re aiming to find out with HUGO.

The film is based on a book by Brian Selznick which follows the adventures of a young boy, his friend, and a robot that is the key to some larger mystery. It’s a bit hard to follow exactly what the story is, but it’s some sort of grand adventure, and I’m just thankful it’s not mo-cap.

Honestly, if this was Chris Columbus or someone similar, I don’t think many of us would be giving this a second look purely based on the trailers, but since it’s Scorsese, we all should probably give it a shot.
