Trailer for submarine thriller Phantom, starring David Duchovny, Ed Harris, and William Fichtner
Hmmm. Well, that was...interesting. The new trailer for PHANTOM, a Cold War submarine thriller starring David Ducovny, Ed Harris, William Fichtner, and Lance Henrikson has, ahem, surfaced, and plays very much like a made-for-cable movie, but with a pretty rock-solid cast. It's a round-up of secondary stars and character actors, all of which are awesome actors, which precludes me from labelling this a Scyfy movie-of-the-week. It's certainly possible that they could carry the film, which echoes the majority of the submarine films we've seen in the past.
Here's to hoping the actors involved can "float this boat."
Have a look:
Here's the synopsis:
Ed Harris plays the captain of a Cold War Soviet missile submarine who has secretly been suffering from seizures that alter his perception of reality. Forced to leave his wife and daughter, he is rushed into a classified mission, where he is haunted by his past and challenged by a rogue KGB group (led by David Duchovny) bent on seizing control of the ship’s nuclear missile. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Harris discovers has been chosen for this mission in the belief he would fail. PHANTOM is a suspense submarine thriller about extraordinary men facing impossible choices.
PHANTOM, directed by Todd Robinson (LONELY HEARTS) and starring Ed Harris, David Ducovny, Lance Henrikson, William Fichtner, Sean Patrick Flannery, and Jonathan Schaech is set to submerge into theaters on March 1, 2013.
|Extra Tidbit:||What's your favorite submarine flick? Mine will likely always be The Hunt For Red October, but I'm open for some contenders.|
