Twilight 2 stuff

02.20.2009

It's a toss up as to which is the more depressing news today: that Patrick Swayze is not doing so well, or that some galoot thinks that the TWILIGHT movies constitute a 'saga'. Or that this new logo is considered news. Or that this is the new title. Swayze probably edges it because he is awesome but I'm pretty sure this thing is close. I would not hesitate to bayonet my mom on her birthday if I saw her reading one of these books.
Extra Tidbit: Matt Bellamy from Muse contributed song to TWILIGHT but it wasn't used.

I agree

Gotta agree with "Kryptoniangirl" and her defense of alternate opinions on a given subject (i.e. "Twilight" books /films). Sometimes.. opinions can cross the line to the point of seeming to harass opposing views of film etc.

Could you pretend to be a bit unbiased?

Are you trying to make people feel stupid for liking something you consider inferior? I loved the books and think the knee jerk reaction to anything twilight is getting old. You don't have to knock the series down just to prove you've got better taste than everyone else. I enjoy hearing about Twilight related news. So thanks for the post even though your negative spin is tiresome.

Oh come on this was all a bit harsh. The books, which were a success whether some of us like it or not, have been called the twilight saga since long before the movies started. I think they added "the twilight saga" part to connect the title "New Moon" to "twilight". Those two titles would sound completely unconnected if we didn't know any different

As I said, "considering what they were" they were pretty good. Meaning that if you acknowledge that they'll never be real literature classics and that they were written for teenagers (and you have an open mind about the books going in to reading them) then you'll most likely have a lot of fun and a generally positive experience.

I for one wasn't expecting much when I started reading them and came out of the series decently surprised.

Her books are a lot better than MOST books targeting

Her books are a lot better than MOST books targeting her general audience, and you'll HAVE to agree with me on that.

dallasdowdy

The books were terrible, and read like a very bad fanfiction rather than a piece of literature. But hey, if that hack can get published then so can anyone. There's hope for all you aspiring writers out there.

Oh c'mon James. The first movie wasn't good and we all understand that, but that doesn't mean we can't hope for a better sequel. The books were pretty good considering what they were and there's now a new director helming the "Saga". There's a good chance this upcoming movie might be somewhat decent. Or at least watchable. Tomorrow's a brighter day. You don't always have to be so damn negative.
