Until Dawn creators announce The Dark Pictures, a horror game anthology

Supermassive Games, the creators of the "choose-your-own-doom" horror game UNTIL DAWN, have unleashed a trailer for their new game Man of Medan, which will serve as the first chapter of the studio's latest initiative, The Dark Pictures Anthology. For the project, Supermassive is joining forces with Bandai Namco to create a series of stand-alone cinematic video game titles, each designed to deliver a bone-chilling narrative coupled with top of the line graphics and a compelling collection of ghastly stories. As part of an interesting twist on the anthology-style presentation, none of the terrifying tales will be connected to one another, but will instead feature brand new stories and characters.

You can check out the trailer for Man of Medan below:

According to Pete Samuels, CEO and Executive Producer at Supermassive Games, the story of Man of Medan starts off on a dive boat in the South Pacific. With a rumored WWII wreck to find, and plenty of on-deck partying to be had, our group of 4 young Americans and their skipper Fliss get ready for what should be the trip of a lifetime…but it doesn’t go quite to plan. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, they find themselves trapped on board a ghost ship. Subjected to unimaginable stress and terror, they must try to find a way to escape the ship and its sinister history. This first chapter is planned for a 2019 release.

Samuels also says that "Man of Medan, like all the games in the Dark Pictures Anthology, is hugely replayable. In fact there is more branching in Man of Medan than any of our previous games. There are multiple endings and multiple scenarios based on the decisions you make in the game. Be careful though as all the playable characters can live, and any and all of them can die, depending on the choices you make. Through the protagonists eyes you will uncover the secrets of the mystery surrounding the ill-fated boat. Figuring this out can save their lives – but whether or not they all escape is up to you."

Pete, please, take my money! UNTIL DAWN is hands down one of my favorite horror video game titles of the past several years, and I simply cannot wait to see what Supermassive is cooking up with The Dark Pictures. I will pre-order them all, dammit! Let's do this!
