Upgrade gets killer retro 80’s action VHS trailer

Haha. This is f*cking awesome. It looks like the team over at CryptTV have just put together a badass throwback trailer for Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell’s upcoming sci-fi horror-action flick UPGRADE starring Logan Marshall-Green, Rosco Campbell, Richard Cawthorne, and Betty Gabriel.

The trailer is cut and crafted in the style of an 80’s VHS promo and it is beyond good times. Personally, I miss this kind of promo. Sure we’ve seen DEATH WISH get a retro Grindhouse-style trailer this past year, but I want more of these VHS throwbacks. I’m a sucker for VHS nostalgia and I literally can’t get enough.

After his wife is killed during a brutal mugging that also leaves him paralyzed, is approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that will “upgrade” his body. The cure – an Artificial Intelligence implant called STEM – gives Grey physical abilities beyond anything experienced and the ability to relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.
