Urban versus Priest
Now that he's helped (or failed?) to save the future from TREK time-travel conundrums, the new McCoy Karl Urban is looking to engage in a bit of villainy.
The Kiwi genre warrior will do battle with the forces of good in PRIEST, from director Scott Stewart of the upcoming LEGION. Based on Tokyopop graphic novels, the post-apocalyptic Western follows a gunslinging holy man (Paul Bettany) riding the dusty trail with a young half-vampire sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a priestess (Maggie Q) to track down a gang of fanged bandits.
Urban will play the self-descriptive "Black Hat", a former colleague of Bettany's who now leads the bloodsucker baddies.
It's not the first time Urban has dabbled in evil -- he previously made the galaxy uncomfortable for Vin Diesel, and put a bullet through Matt Damon's squeeze.
He's also expected back in Enterprise's sick bay as the cantankerous medical officer in another TREK.
|Extra Tidbit:||Urban appeared in a pilot for a "Xena: Warrior Princess" spinoff that never got to series (he played Caesar on several episodes of "Xena").|
