Vin Diesel takes some time to sit on his bike in the rain in this photo for Riddick

Jan. 21, 2013by:

Over the weekend, Vin Diesel was nice enough to share a new still from RIDDICK with the fans of his Facebook page.

Why so sad Riddick? When I first saw this I wanted to put sad Keanu on the bike next to him holding a cupcake. Diesel offered up no details or anything explaining the picture. It was just his way to tell his fans to have a great weekend. I anticipate that there will be a trailer at some point soon since we've been getting quite a few pieces from this film. Diesel has always been very involved with this character and series, so I'm sure that will all come out with a trailer or possibly a clip is released.

Check out the photo below, and try not to get too sad.

Synopsis: The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

RIDDICK, starring Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff and Bokeem Woodbine is set for release on September 6, 2013.

I wonder how many people have forgotten Riddick's first name is Richard. I'm still wondering what the B of his middle name stands for.

Riddick playing Sudoku would be fucking epic. It's my greatest hope that the huge success and fandom that DREDD has gained since releasing on Blu-Ray will pave the way for a sequel and better marketing. Also the sequel needs a big star as the villain.

The film is going to be Riddickulously good. Can't wait.

And yes, Dredd 2 please!

If chronicles of Riddick can get a sequel, is there still hope for a Dredd sequel? Pretty sure both bombed in theaters but has a small, loyal fanbase. Poor Karl Urban. At least he has Star Trek 2.

Maybe Karl could do what Vin Diesel did and parlay the money he makes from a cheaper, shallower franchise (Fast and Furious) to help front the cost for the better, less popular franchise? ;D

At this point the only way Dredd gets a sequel is if JJ Abrams signs on to direct.

It could (and hopefully) will happen. Riddick happened because Chronicles eventually turned a profit with DVD sales and Diesel became a bankable name again with F & F sequels. It's a possibilty but just like with Riddick, if it happens; it'll take time.
