Vin & Paul in FATF4?!

Wow, I didn't see this coming. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are in negotiations with Universal to star in FAST AND THE FURIOUS 4, which doesn't have a catchy subtitle just yet. The actors would reteam for the first time since the 2001 original. Walker appeared in 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS while Diesel had a cameo in TOKYO DRIFT. Justin Lin and Chris Morgan will return to direct and write the fourth film respectively. As for the plot, this line from Variety kills me: "The story line is being kept under wraps, but fast cars are involved." No shit? Filming is expected to take place in LA, Mexico and the Dominican Republic which gives you an idea of what the film might be. The return for the actors is surprising, especially for Diesel who priced himself out of 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS at the height of his fame, asking for $20 million plus. You can bet he won't get anywhere near $20 million for this film. And it's funny to note that Uni could get Walker and Diesel to return but probably couldn't get Eva Mendes (co-star of 2 FAST) to make an appearance. Funny how Hollywood fortunes turn so quickly. Universal is hoping to get filming in production this spring before the strike. Diesel recently wrapped filming on BABYLON AD while Walker has the indie HEAVEN PROJECT on the way.

Extra Tidbit: Roger Corman wrote a 1955 film titled THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, which has nothing to do with these versions.
