W poster

06.05.2008
Apparently what you see BELOW is a teaser poster for Oliver Stone's upcoming Goerge W. Bush biopic W. But to me it reminds me of a poster someone might have in their college dorm room. I'm not convinced it's official, but apparently it is. And this movie has wrangled up quite the cast without my knowledge. In addition to the leads, Thandie Newton is playing Condie Rice, Jeffrey Wright is in as Colin Powell, we have Scott Glenn as Donald Rumsfeld, and Ioan Gruffud as British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The teaser art BELOW comes from the Cannes Film Festival, and those sentences on the bottom are what we call Bush-isms, actual quotes muttered by the president himself.

And your blind to CONCRETE issues

I am from Cincy and that town is conservative as hell so we can go all day and show what papers support left or right thats pointless. So you are still wrong the media is not liberal I named just as many as you did.

But you still don't know what Obama stances are on a lot of things thats been my point from the get go.
You refuse to read or hear what he has to say.
And that is a closed mind .
I have read what McCain has said but all you can do is say is Obama just says hope and that is not

I have read what McCain has said but all you can do is say is Obama just says hope and that is not all he is saying.
And I hate to tell you but most of the united States believe that we should talk to our enemy's its called being Diplomatic, Bush has failed at this and McCain is taking a hit on this and for the Gi-Bill. I am sure he will flip flop on soon.
You talk to your enemy's thats what works it has been proven, kennedy talks with kerchief,There are countless times that we as a country have talked to our enemy's and know that seems like a joke to you.
Well good job man If you have studied military history Being Diplomatic first was always the way to go.
Under Bush the Dollar has lost its value
are economy is crumbling and the middleclass is dying.
You look at the issues from only one point of view and u continue to do so.
Thankfully most people have seen the light and see where this country is headed and are getting the republicans out of office all over the united states.
The Dems control the senate know and when a Dem is President all will start to get a little better.
Don't get me wrong I think all politicians are somewhat dirty but its more like Republican are dirty 90% of the time and the dems 40% of the time.

Try to read both sides of the argument and not just one.

YOU'RE NOT LOOKING AT THE CONCRETE ISSUE

It's true that FOX is owned by Rupert Murdoch, a Republican, but AGAIN, look closer... The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times,(not to mention the METRO pages that go into rotation within those cities) two of the biggest news papers on the planet, have an entire payroll that swings extreme left wing. Viacom and it's subsidaries, Universal Broadcast, which under it is NBC and hundreds of other publications, has an extremely liberal mindset and stance. I'm originally from Philadelphia, and

I'm originally from Philadelphia, and The Inquirer was no different. I could go on and on. It's not hard to see. LOOK CLOSER.

If you can't see that the proof is in the pudding hopefully you will by November of this year, but that's doubtful. In every reply that you made there is still much that you overlook in my statements. Obama doesn't have nearly enough political experience to run this country. He's a dreamer.

If my statements aren't valid enough for you, read what SUGARONTOP has stated. I'm not trying to pass this debate onto another Schmoe, but it's plain as day: NOT OBAMA, NOT NOW. It's ridiculous that you laugh when I say that the media is liberal. Are you covering both of your eyes? How can you not see that? Peace and love is great and all, and so is the will to believe in both, but in todays world, or any other time before it for that matter, there has been and always will be war. Obama will not change that no matter how many times he says "HOPE", but his sheep believe in every word he says. TALKING to our enemies will not help. This is an entire religious sect that want us and our lifestyles to burn. They blow up school children on a regular basis and wrap their women from head to toe in sheets for the sake of their virgins in paradise. They don't "TALK". They're stuck in biblical times and are savage. Hell, BOTH of Obama's fathers were of the same thinking. Talk about sad.

Super Left Liberals are cowards. They piss and moan about our country and contribute nothing. Obama is one of these people, and was more-so in the past. He's willing to send money to small villages near Africa where he supposedly "found himself" and wants to take the funds from our military. So no, baby. No Obama. Please God no Obama. Read my statement more carefully, there is much that you overlook and do not reply to. Also, I couldn't be further from ignorant. It's you who has the tunnel vision.

Nother thing, and please take this as constructive criticism: learn how to structure a sentence and know where to use your CAPS LOCK. That in itself shows blatantly that you wear your ignorance on your sleeve.

imurealdad1 wrong again wow shocker, try reading more....

Wow you show your ignorance on every thing you write.
Fox is owned by a big wealthy Republican (Rupert Murdoch)so you are wrong there and CNN is also owned by a Republican so how is the mainstream media liberal?....wrong again
imurealdad1!
And like I stated before I read everything from both sides unlike you so you have no leg to stand on.
Snopes is good because it gives reference to pics and stories written...but factcheck.org is good as well.
there complete 3rd parties.

And once again you show how blind you are if you think Hope is the Only thing Obama says. You really need to read more and learn what he does say about foreign policy.
He might not have fought in any wars but the man shows good judgement on more things war related than McCain.

I watch most of what McCain says and speaks and I read everything on the guy.
It Helps my Grandfather who fought in the Korean war lived in Arizona for ever and is a Huge Republican and has tons info on the guy.
By the way he Hates McCain hates the fact that he flips on everything and hates his stance on Mexican Immigrants .
this will be the first year he won't vote.

If your only Argument is that the media is liberal well you proved how little you know.
Your helping me out on every turn.
John McCain has made bad choices his whole life and will not help this country.
Its already been proven that the Bush policy of not talking to are enemy's is wrong and has not worked and McCain will continue to do this.
Here is a hint General Petraeus has suggested that we do have talks with Iran but McCain thinks other wise.
Just Because McCain fought for our country does make him a good leader or a good President.
And please for the love of god read something anything before you speak learn the facts before you write because you are just proving my point....

OBAMA O8 Baby!!!

Oh yeah and u have to love McCain for voting against the New GI-Bill giving our troops a full education...McCain has been known as a huge flip-floper on almost all of the big issues but hey at least he has a plan about Iraq.
Yeah his plan is 4or 5 years from know we might be out.(or 100)
By then Iran will be completely out of control but oh well at least McCain has a plan....give me a break.
And you have to love the fact the he has already stated the economy is not his strong suit...well thats great because we are doing so well and its not like we are in a resesion or anything.
WOW with all of our jobs being sent over to China you should be scared.

Wow.

Best thing any Obama supporter can do: point out significant, country-changing plans that this man has laid out thus far. Do it. Stop wrangling over religion, his name, what he wore or didn't (all of little consequence right now), and start discussing tangible plans that this man has--ones that aren't fucked up like "We'll be out o' Iraq in 16 months after I take office, kids!" Hahhaaaa. What a fool. If you can't find them, then DEMAND he lay them out. Make him work beyond pretty

Best thing a McCain supporter can do: push him on issues surrounding equal rights, education, women's rights, etc. Laud him for his amazing service and his plan for the Middle East. Yes, plan. See? He's got them. And, though I hate his voting record on many issues, he at least has one, unlike Obama, who voted "present" more than that geeky kid who never had the balls to skip school.

Best thing a Hillary supporter can do: watch as you all run about for the next few months, freaking out, and know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we're all screwy and screwed.

You seem to be getting all of your information from snopes. The media is extremely liberal. Not that I'm a conservative, but you can only go so far leftwing. Do they say, that as SUGARONTOP puts it, that OBAMA says NOTHING in his speeches? He has no set foreign policy? Tell me this: WHAT DOES HE SAY THAT'S SOLID?? Change? Hope? Believe? Yes we can? Can what? What the hell is he saying? You're one of the blind who are so enamored with this man and his "HOPE" that you look past the Reverend

It's tunnel vision. You're sooo HOPEFUL.

Once again, I know these things about McCain: He's a patriot, he's from a military background, he's not you're typical Ultra conservative Republican, and he takes a solid stance in our trying times. Obama offers nothing, just HOPE. "I hope one day our country will be great again!" Where does that leave us? It would be a mistake voting for that man. John McCain for President of the United States - 2008. End of story.

imurealdad1-try reading facts

Its so sad that proof and facts mean nothing to you.(I give u proof but you ignore it so closed minded)
If you went to snopes.com there is tons of proof about him not being a Muslim.
He never was a Muslim but that seems to escape you.
And when it comes to both McCain and Barack I have read everything on them books and websites.
Everything you have said is wrong and your continued belief in those fake things said about a man.
you have not done your homework you still refuse to do research

Snopes proves with Pictures that he wore a flag pin way before the pa primary and the fact the you buy into that GARBAGE IS SCARY!!
I to have gotten the email stating the things that you state below and if you went to snopes it proves you wrong with video and pictures of Barack puting his hand over his heart way before he
started running.(this is so sad)
You get on here and spout crap that I have proved u wrong on before and you start spouting more crap that has already been proved wrong.
So yes I call you closed mined you refuse to read, to see proof thats right in front of you and I feel sorry for you and peoples like you that are blinded by lies.
Oh yeah here is your proof [link]

you won't read it but there is proof.
I will admit the first time I heard these things about Barack I was scared but I read about him and watched CNN and read books and everything that you have said is as lie and there is proof.
So come back when you have actually read something if you can do that.

Who gives a fuck about this "kiddie" time? Both are now very rich men and both have forgotten their roots in the past year and a half. Obama has made horrific comments about the religious and poor, has been a constant misogynist, and is, above all, NOT experienced enough to run a country, especially one that is in as much trouble as ours.

Fact is: Obama has no plan. Give me one, clearly laid out plan. ONE. Step by step. Give it to me. I'm listening. OH, wait. Let's just "talk" change

And foreign policy will be a joke under a president Obama.

Sophism does not at all win the day unless you are an unthinking American.

He talks well. He has NO game plan, though. None.

McCain is to be commended heartily but not elected, and his education voting strikes fear into my heart.

So, again:

We. Are. Fucked.

EH-NAM13 - you're careless, look closer

Obama went to HARVARD. What does that tell you? And so what if Oprah was in the same church as Obama? What does that tell me? In all honesty, the only McCain website I've ever visited was his daughter's blogette and watched her video diary. I have him as a friend on MySpace, but that's only to show support, not attain information. There's various news sources where I'm able to watch the candidates speeches and read quotes, gather info and form my own opinion.

As far as Barack not being a Muslim, you're wrong again. This wasn't some spout by "THE MAN" to bring him down. His birth father was a Muslim, as was his step-father. Obama went to Islamic schools. Yes, he is affiliated with the Presbertyrian church but it's a cover up because he is a congressman. If you know anything about the Islamic faith, it says if you step away from the religion that you are an infidel, a traitor. Also, for quite some time, not only did he not put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, notice how the man didn't even wear an American flag pin during his primary election run until he came to Pennsylvania, the day after he was asked on the panel "Why" he never wore it. He couldn't even give a straight answer, he turned it around to the war in Iraq. How can a man who's running for president of the free world not even solute the flag? He's a lawyer, he'll find a loophole or scapegoat to beat around the bush. No pun intended.
These are the little things that I see that add up to a bigger picture.

And how is "MAN" scared of a "Black" man with a WEIRD NAME? This has nothing to do with the color of Obama's skin
(plus, he's more White if anything considering that he was raised by his mother's side of the family). If there was a Black man that I felt was qualified enough for the presidency, which I'm sure in the future there will be, I would happily vote for him, even if he had a "FUNNY" name. Try MUSLIM name. We're at war with radical Islamics, remember? I think Colin Powell, for example, would have made a fine president. It is you, my friend, who has the closed mind. You know nothing about me or "people like me", so don't pass that judgement. I can see that Obama is a charasmatic man and a good public speaker, but because of Bush administration the country has such tunnel vision for Obama, because he offers "HOPE" and "CHANGE", like he's the second coming of Christ. What's really SCARY is how YOU need to open your eyes and ask "CHANGE WHAT?" "HOPE" is well and good, but what's concrete about anything that this man says??

Again, McCain comes from a military background with a pedigree. He was born on a base. No, he was not poor, his upbringing was funded by the government because of his fathers ties to military life. And you say you respect him but mock him for crashing. Is that a check mark on his character for "UNQUALIFIED"? As cliche as it sounds, it's because of men like McCain who suffered for his country in trying times that people have the rights that we have today. Plain and simple. What the hell has Obama EVER done for this country beside piss and moan with his beloved Reverend? Remember "Not God bless America,God damn America." That's a direct quote from Obama's mentor and friend who he so conviently abandoned when this was brought to light. That's the kind of stuff that I think about, not his skin color. And again, McCain is NOT Bush. Don't confuse the two or their policies. Wake up.

First of all, I'm not a Republican, I'm registered not affiliated. I would just as easily vote Democrat if I felt that the party member was qualified to represent our country, but not Obama, not now.

Obama was a radical, preaching anti-American sentiment since his days at Harvard, where he practiced law, hence the slick talking. Barack was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, is half white, (yet has played the race card, much more recently his wife), but rebelled against it while he was dropping acid, and snorting coke in college then praising Allah in a desert somewhere, and this was before Reverend Wright, which in itself is a whole other level. To think that people view him as some kind of savior and comepletely over-look his past is sickening. Did you know he's trying to pass a bill that would take upward of $800 billion dollars away from military funding? Do you know what could happen to our country without the NECESSARY evil of our military powers? Get that straight my friend.

In no certain terms, what happens when Obama decides to kiss the asses of these terrorists, gives a little wink-wink, nod-nod, in the name of "peace" and "change" and they decide that he's a joke and then once again commit some haneous act? I guess we'd really need our health care then, huh?

John McCain has a pedigree. While Barack "Hussein" Obama was being coddled, John McCain was locked in a cage with water up to his neck in the blistering sun as a POW, for five years no less. He has a son in the airforce (how many candidates have ever allowed their children to fight?), but people say that he still wants war. Ridiculous. It's because he's a patriot and has put himself before his country his entire life. He's an honorable man and deserves this nomination. Obama should be ashamed of himself.

As for this movie, as much as I don't care for Bush, fuck over-preachy Oliver Stone and his soapbox. I could care less if I ever see another one of his movies again.

I sure think so - I'm no historian, but I think Bush should have been out of office and in exile long ago. He's like an indignant 6 year old- It's unfathomable that our own presidential administration seems to loathe the American people so much. It makes me sick the kind of mentality a leader must have to blatantly ignore the will of the people on so many levels.

So, yes. I'm happy that in America we can be critical of these things, share, discuss and even joke about the president - it's

Get some Education, Baby

Bill Clinton was not impeached.

And his administration did more for poor people, people of color, and the like than many. Go do a little reading; he left this nation in pretty good shape. He balanced the budget. Unemployment was way down.

Now? Well, we're fucked. Can you say recession? Can you say unemployment and lack of benefits for veterans? Can you say WORST president ever? Most of America can and does, darlin'.

Now, as for Obama? He has no plan. He speaks prettily and

He speaks prettily and all the dumb Americans go "Ohhhhhh" (we've been deprived so long of a president who can actually speak well, so how can you blame them? *see poster*). But the man is not qualified for the job. Pretty words about change are as bad as words spewed about "freedom" and "democracy" and the "war on terra."

McCain is frightening in some respects as well (education, civil rights, abortion), though I do prefer his stance on foreign policy and desire someone with military experience in the Whitehouse (like we HAVE NOT had for the past eight wretched years).

John McCain deserves this presidency more than any candidate in the past 30 years. The man is a genuine patriot. I'm not some hard nosed, right wing conservative either, I just don't BELIVE in the CHANGE that Barack "The Second Coming or at least that's what they think" Obama is supposedly bringing to the table. Change what?

People who oppose McCain because of the party he's registered under should realize that he's NOT George Bush!!!

Unity Ahoy!

Yeah, "all" Hillary supporters now support McCain, for none of them are clear thinking people, right? And Obama is above criticism, too, huh? I mean, surely, anyone who must criticize him does so on red herring issues like the ones you mention, right?

Wow. Way to show how much the democrats want "unity" there, tiger.

Like I said: Douche. Turd Sammie. Can't win for losing.

Did you have to add that extra tidbit? Now all of the bitter Hillary supporters (who inexplicably now support McCain, even though they are completely different on the issues) will be giving their long winded rants about how Obama is a secret Muslim, then criticize his Christian pastor.

It could be a comedy, methinks

Eloquent ain't the man's forte. Poor Georgie. Worst U.S. President he shall be.

And, uh, re: extra tidbit: don't you mean Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich?

We're all horribly fucked and far from home, horribly, horribly so.

When will we learn....

Every president from every generation has done good and bad, that's a fact. Strangely it seems that the party out of power knows only the bad and the party in power knows only the good. Honestly I don't think we win with any of these jokers (Except maybe Ron Paul) Dubya had his moments, but I certainly can't say I think he's great. And I'm a republican! But I think cashing it all in on Obama being the second coming isn't a good thing to do either. Both sides want to screw us and get as much

Poster is a little weak, but I don't have much faith in the film anyway. Who knows, maybe Stone will work some magic and bang out a film that's actually worth seeing.

As for the extra tidbit, I don't like either of the candidates (have absolutely no respect for Obama or his heavy-handed and played out message of "hope" and "change.") so I'm exercising my right not to vote at all in this particular election.

However, if I absolutely had to lean one way (Clinton was my pick)I'd have to go

McCain's is a fraud, a phony maverick. He's also old and out-of-touch.

This teaser's great! I want it hanging on my wall.

The experience speech gets old guys. really. You guys act like Obama went from a guy on the street to a Illinois senator. He was a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School and was a lawyer up till his run for a seat.

Bush was a failed Texas Rangers manager before becoming governor. Never mind all the other failed businesses he was given. So please.

Obama for the win

You know, some people keep talking about experience as if Obama hasn't had a long and successful life full of real accomplishments for bringing change. He got the law passed in Illinois that said that police interrogations had to be video taped, something law enforcement tried to fight him on being one example of change he brought for the good of the people. But honestly, you tell me, with knowing how corrupt Washington D.C. is, would you really want an old hand? Sometimes the best person

Obama

I'm taking the sensible route, and voting Obama. Sure he doesn't have experience, but he seems to know what he's doing a lot better. He was against Iraq War from the start, he wants the G.I. Bill passed (McCain doesn't), and he knows that we actually have to talk to our enemies, instead of blowing them up. Also, killing a man has nothing to do with being a good president. Unless you want to argue that Grant was a great president. Also, Obama will only raise taxes for the wealthy, thus

I want one reason to vote for McCain (besides experience, I want an actual reason) and then we'll talk.

Btw, poster looks promising. Bush jokes old, but if anyone can spin them in a fresh direction it's Stone.

It's going to be so nice to have someone in the White House who isn't a bumbling, stumbling, stammering, half-wit, hapless, recovering addict moron. Thank you, term limits.

By the way, how DID Bush win office twice? As always, I blame the South for this screwup.

While I have nothing but resentment and/or hatred for 98% of everything the Bush administration has ever done, I've always been able to count on his quotes to put a smile on my face and make me feel smart again.

I'm an Obama supporter, but as far as Republicans go, I have the utmost respect for McCain even if I disagree with his war policies.

How on earth does this guy (or girl) tell us to study the facts about McCain and then shoot off that garbage. They're Howard Dean talking points. Maybe he (she) should actually check the facts before he goes on his liberal rant next time.

OBAMA all the way!

People that vote for MCcain have no clue.
I urge people to look at the facts and just read.
MCcain will have us staying in Iraq for a long time and at the same time making Iran stronger.
Our General has already told us we are spread to thin.
Also MCcain is against the new GI-bill
Giving our troops a full college Education.....The reason for this is he does not want our troops leaving the Military getting an Education.
I am a Former Republican but if you lose all of our business to China

Wow Trendkill24hour, what you say is very interesting. I've never thought of it that way. That should be McCain's slogan. "I've killed a man" It's a sad realistic truth. But an interesting fact.

It's either Obama's change = First term in Senate as his experience

or McCain's heroic 22yr military career, including a 5+yr POW status, 26 years in congress. He may not be the best for the position, but I'll take his experience over Obama's anytime.

O-yea... and the poster sucks

This Bush hatred is getting weak and old. Im not a supporter, but I sure dont fall into all the liberal hatred towards him. I for one will not see this movie, not only is the idea weak minded and bias its directed by one of the most overated piece of shit directors of all time. I can't wait for this next election, because then I woulnt be annoyed by all the tired ass Bush jokes anymore.

McCain has my vote, we need a president that has actually killed someone!

Obama all the way!!!

This movie has potential with the cast it's managed to gather up. I certainly hope they were able to sign Richard Dreyfuss for the role of Cheney. I have the screenplay sitting on my comp, just haven't gotten around to reading it yet (too wrapped up in reading the Coen Bros.' new work among others), so I can't say whether or not it's well written yet.

2008....End of an Error.
