Wahlberg on Payne

Mark Wahlberg was talking to MTV recently about how draining playing MAX PAYNE in the upcoming video game adaptation has been. The film sees a DEA agent (Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Mila Kunis) out to avenge her sister’s death come together to investigate a bunch of killings in New York. The duo are hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation. Here’s what Wahlberg had to say about the role:

“I really had to, like… Feel it, feel it, feel it.”

Nah, not really. This is what he said:

“I read the script and said either somebody got really creative or it’s actually more like a movie than most games… Max Payne is not a one-trick pony. It’s probably one of the edgier roles I’ve played but also the most layered. Here’s a very happy guy who worked a dismal job, had a beautiful family. But the beauty in his life was taken away. He just goes on a rampage. It’s all driven by emotion.”

That’s cool I guess. But if Wahlberg thinks he’s selling my MAX PAYNE ticket he’s got another thing coming. I’m seeing this thing for Mila Kunis. I heard after FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, Gap started manufacturing pants with extra space in the crotch, called “Boner Breathers”, so people could watch Kunis and not have to worry about being uncomfortable when they drew wood.
