Wait, Three Men and a Bride is for real? Selleck says yes

06.03.2010

Last year, we heard Steve Guttenberg going on about a potential sequel in the THREE MEN AND A BABY series called THREE MEN AND A BRIDE. I was skeptical because it's Steve Guttenberg, and he doesn’t have a whole lot going on these days (he also proposed another sequel for POLICE ACADEMY and COCOON), but it appears this project might be for real.

MTV recently talked to another one of the Three Men, Tom Selleck, and he confirmed that the movie is in the works, and will probably end up happening after all.

"It is true that Disney checked my availability," he said, confirmed Guttenberg's comments from late last year. "And I know they checked Ted's and Steve's, and then had a script written, I think tentatively called 'Three Men and a Bride,' which kind of says it all [about the story]."

"I hope it's a good script, and if it is a good script I hope they do it, because it would be really fun to get back with Ted and Steve," he said. "The strongest of the two movies I think is the first one. It had more heart, and that's what I hope this third one would have if we do it."

The original film was in 1987, meaning their little baby girl is now a 23 year-old hottie, and a ripe age for marriage, at least according to over half of my former high school class. I can think of worse ideas for family comedies, and it’d be cool to see the gang back together again.

Extra Tidbit: Just so long as this isn't anything like MAMMA MIA!

I can't believe I'm gonna say this...

...but this doesn't sound like it will suck! I really liked the first movie, and so sure, what the hell :)

As long as it's more like the first

than the 2nd, I'm fine with it. It's one of the few remakes (it originally was a very funny French film) that didn't suck.

Nancy Travis (a major hottie back in the day) played the mother.

seriously?

I was living in Toronto when the first movie came out and became a smash hit. I'm walking down the street, see a poster for the movie, see that the director is Leonard Nimoy. Have to go sit down for a while.

So... they're marrying the little girl they raised from an infant? Creepy.

Sounds good to me. At least they're(Disney) not trying to remake the original.

Yea..

...And they should definately put another cardboard cutout in the background of a scene so we can all have another urban legend to debate for the next 20 years.

I'm sure I'm in the minority (as is often the case)...

... but I preferred 'Three Men and a Little Lady' to the original.

I look forward to another installment.

Awesome

I like this. Even if it sucks, its good to see sequels to old movies with the original cast over a damn remake. Long live the Goot!
