Warner Bros. to open the Harry Potter sets to tourists

One of the perks of this very job is that every once in a while, I’ll get to visit the set of an upcoming movie during filming. I love that part of the job because, as much as I love actors, I love seeing the director, DP, sound guys, FX guys, etc. all working together in tandem. Plus there’s something inherently fun about walking around a film set. And now, you’ll get to do that too.

The HARRY POTTER films have wrapped shooting and instead of just tearing down the locations, Warner Bros. has decided to open up the sets they built to the public. Located at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, the attraction is set to open in the Spring of 2012. No price has been set for admission yet but the website says you can expect it to be on par with similar London attractions (not sure if this qualifies as comparable but the Tower of London charges about 20 pounds / 35 dollars).

The tour promises authentic props, costumes and sets from the HARRY POTTER films but doesn’t really get into specifics about what you’ll see as opening day is still over a year away. For more information, you’ll want to check out the official tour website as that will also be the only place you can buy tickets.
